I stayed here for 2 days and the property is very beautiful. It's very close to the bird sanctuary. Everything was beautiful except for the mosquitoes at night. Don't forget to ask for the mosquito repellent. Service was very good. The guy at the reception was the sweetest person. They are very helpful. I will go back for sure but... More

The Tharavadu Heritage is a good place to stay. We easily upgraded our rooms at some extre cost as they were available. The Govt. boat jetty is at 5 mins walking distance where you can get a tremendous experience of backwaters @Rs 10 per person. We were allowed to cook maggie for my Kid which make us great to feel.... If you try one thing in your stay at Tharavadu, it has to be the fish wrapped in a banana leaf. The fish is called a Karimeen and is sourced locally and comes with some fantastic spiced chutney. A really authentic experience for any traveller, and mixed with the humidity, sound of the nearby temple, fantastic and observant service, it... More

A century old syrian christian ancestral home at affordable price. I been there multiple times as its been owned by a good friend. A good place to stay with family. The lake is not close by because old homes never built near a lake. Ancestors built their homes near rivers with easy access to back waters or sea. Enjoy..

Tharavadu is a heritage property close to the Vembanad lake in Kumrakom. The property is well maintained without loosing its heritage value. We spent three nights in the bamboo cottage which was set in a jungle atmosphere. Excellent atmosphere. The resort is close to Govt. boat jetty. The lake is in a walkable distance. Courteous staff and homely food

10th April 2014 It was nice stay here. We enjoyed the sound of birds around our cottage. (Kingfisher, woodpecker, drongo, coucal, koel etc..) We got best deal for stay. Very near to the boat jetty. Moderate food. If you stay in bamboo cottage then you hear some surprising sounds at night (nocturnal animal / birds). They gave mosquito mat but... More

The staff was very kind. The place is very good, Rooms were specious and with private balconies. They upgrade us to AC rooms with bit of extra cost. The overall space is good. Only thing that the Kids garden was not maintained properly and also there was some corner area that was not maintained. Location of the hotel is very... More

The surroundings do not disappoint with grand teak buildings with magnificent overhanging eaves and generous balconies. We stayed in a charming first floor room with it's own veranda which provided a delightful refuge from dramatic thunderstorms as we watched rain cascade from the roof. Food was variable and basic and service a little confused although very friendly. We would recommend... More

Beautiful old heritage house very clean and service wonderful. We happened to stay on an unfortunate festival date where the temple next door starts its noisy service at 3am and doesn't stop! Having said that I would still recommend staying for the ambience service and hot showers!
