As others have noted, it's name says it all -- A BAD Whispering Palms hotel. Warning: If you like to crack the occasional beer or enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, this is not the place for you because they do not have a license to sell alcohol. In fairness, the state of Kerala is imposing high booze taxes... More

This was my third trip to the Kumarakom backwaters and while Abad is a competent scenic budget hotel, (with limited food options) it does not porvide Vanilla options for exploring the backwaters such as a canoe ride into the bird sanctuary backwater cruise etc and the options remain limited to a trip in the Vembnad lake.

We stayed here 2 nights - so beautiful and peaceful. It was lovely to be able to wander straight out into the countryside or along to the nearby town. Only 7 rupees on the bus to town. from there you could get a government service boat right across the lake for 10 rupees - not much to see when you... More

We went to Kerala for the Shabarimala pilgrimage and wanted relax and unwind after we visited Shabarimala. Abad Whispering Palms is the perfect place to do so. Our stay there was so relaxing and everything went like the wind, effortless. The staff is very courteous and were always willing to help. The cottage was lovely and classy. Everything was well... In my 6 day trip to Kerala, this hotel stands out both in terms of service and location and amenities. This was the only hotel that kept the rooms ready for triple occupancy and worked in advance for a smooth check-in. 2 minutes to check in. I walk into the room to find the extra bed ready for use, pillows,... More

Nice food, excellent swimming pool area, good food. Sea view cottage are really nice. Hammock near shore are really nice. One can feel the Backwaters life. Really nice place for outing. However Management needs to upgrade the infra. It looks alike old place.

We arrived at this place after something like 4 hour coach journey from the airport. The journey was bad enough but to get this dreadful place at the end of it is punishment, for something. All our group was aghast. This establishment has nothing going for it which, presumably, is why apart from our group of 12 there was only... More

I have stayed at this property twice and I must say the property is pretty good and has amazing and mesmerizing views. the property is siuated at the backwaters and you can relax yourself on a hammock with enjoying the backwaters. An excellent swimming pool which overlooks the backwaters is the best part of this hotel. There are different type... More

Quiet location some way from Kumarakom town. At the end of a strip of hotels so there are nice walks past paddy fields and coconut groves. Clean, comfortable room with sea view but the hotel needs work done. Paintwork needs renewing, paths are uneven (and could be dangerous) and I didn't go near the pool as it was nasty green... More
