Can't find sufficient praise for this hotel. They go out of their way to organise activities, eg bird watching, butterfly watching, a talk on the inland sea/lake and how it developed. There is an excellent shell food restaurant and although I had a doubtful meal at the main restaurant it was only the once. The hotel layout is a joy... More

A charming resort type of place on the backwaters in south India. Lovely grounds and room although to go downstairs to the bathroom seemed odd, especially during the night. Very comfortable bed. Food was good, but not great. You are trapped there, so it would be better as an all inclusive rather than a bed and breakfast. Some good activities... More

Coconut Lagoon Hotel is only accessible by boat and you are greeted by the staff on arrival and offered a coconut to drink from. The staff are especially warm, friendly and always smiling. The ground are very well kept and there is an attractive swimming pool. The pool side bar serves delicious cocktails, and snacks and sandwiches. Rooms are very... More

A rather larger resort than we would like but the large area absorbs it very well. The staff are terrific and there are a number of activities within the grounds. The rooms are good and the food excellent if a little pricey.

After reaching Kumarakom, we got a soothing boat transfer from the boat jetty to the sprawling green premises of the CGH property by the gorgeous Vembanad Lake, Coconut Lagoon. We were ushered in with flowers, namaskaras and melodious music. But most importantly, extremely warm smiles. The pool villa that we resided in comprised a private pool, an open sit-out, a... More

Where do you begin? You enter the site via a boat on the lagoon. The welcome is one not experienced before. A man playing the flute. A lady handing you a flower. A gentleman offering you a drink from a tender coconut. Then the layout of the individual heritage bungalows. We only stayed a night, wish it could have been... More

I have been traveling to Kerala every year since 2007, my holidays have varied from touring, by mini bus, trains, and car with driver, but never spending more than a few day at one location. The first hotel that I stayed in was The Coconut Lagoon, wasn't I lucky to stay in what I think is the most beautiful location... More

From being welcomed from our transit boat to being waved goodbye onto our houseboat , the staff were so friendly and helpful. The buffet dinners and breakfasts had a tremendous selection of food and the bungalows were situated so you could retire to peace. Ours was facing one of the backwaters, so we could watch the boats and birds. Although... More

A relaxing end to a lovely stay in Kerala. Our bungalow was very comfortable and clean. The location was towards the back of the property so no view as such. My only negative comment was the food in the restaurant was not as good as we expected.

Beautiful hotel which is accessed only by a boat as the hotel occupies the whole island. Gorgeous eco friendly hotel, bountiful spread for bfast. Love the waitresses white sari uniforms. I am a little tired of ladies being forced to wear pants in hotels across asia. Why can't they wear their national and cultural style uniforms instead? Gorgeous and can't... More
