It's hard to speak too highly of this blissful retreat. Our room was perfect, the staff were first class, the food excellent. The rooms are all in traditional local houses that had been neglected and required love and care. They were dismantled and rebuilt here. The CGU philosophy is admirable and should be followed by many more hotels. I really... More

It is a great experience to arrive at Coconut Lagoon, the friendlyness, the charm and the excotic setting is dreamlike and just a life experience. Rooms are great, comfortable and good looking, just the right level of luxury, not too much. Food was excellent. Staff charmed us at every meal. Great hotel shop. This is a pleace where you can... the hotel is charming and the staff are very friendly. They were always attentive and happy to chat about local customs etc. We were there over Christmas and they made a big effort to make it special. The property is peaceful and relaxing. Our children enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Rooms are are on the periphery are nicer We also did one... More

The service here is superb, as is the food. Even the buffet is largely freshly cooked. The activities are interesting and range from walking in the local neighbourhood and bird watching with a guide. A very relaxing place to be - we took advantage of the Ayurvedic massage centre and felt 10 years younger! The accommodation is lovely - little... More

What can I add to the already detailed reviews? *Try to go on the walk with the naturalist (a really, really nice guy) to appreciate the lovely birds and butterflies that visit Coconut Lagoon. *We couldn't do justice to the buffet dinners on the evenings we were there -- the range was enormous and delicious looking, but we decided on... We shared our boat ride to the resort with a genial smiling gentleman we thought was a guest - he turned out to be the Manager! His charisma obviously works on everybody, because all the staff at this wonderful retreat from the hurly burly of the big cities is just as charming and obliging. We couldn't fault Coconut Lagoon, our... More

The atmosphere of this place is overwhelming from the moment you reach this place or depart in a boat, traditional music with staff dressed in traditional wear just makes you feel welcome. The villas facing the backwaters are the best, although all the houses/cottages in the resort are traditional and resorted to its best. They have a private pool with... More

I travelled as a part of a group in early Decemeber to this most enchanting resort in Kerala. After few hours of travel from Kochi by road, we had to spend 10/15minutes by boat to reach this resort. As we arrive in the boat, we were received with traditional music and welcome by the staff of this beautiful resort. It... More

We tremendously enjoyed a 1 week stay ( 25/12-2014 - 1/1/2015 ) at Coconut Lagoon, a little paradise set amidst of the backwaters and the Vembanad Lake,Kerala,India. From the moment we arrived we experienced the gracious hospitality of Manager Jeje Aravindan and his very friendly and efficient staff. A special mention is made to Annie,Head of housekeeping, to Elby, Saphe... More

This hotel is is really something special. I could laze in the pool, gazing out onto the lake for hours. But there are so many great spots--the butterfly area, the bird watching huts, the lake itself (which can be viewed at sunset via the evening cruise). This resort aims to do something unique in terms of eco sustainability and healthy... More
