This isolated resort is a peacefu retreat (after a few days in Rome for us). Did not use the golf course, but the hotel was nicely decorated with some lovely antiques and the rooms of adequate size. Not only is this hotel grossly overpriced it is in the middle of nowhere. Sitting at the bottom of a valley in the Tuscan hills the so called golf course is completely dried out, the long stretches of cemented walkways are baking in the heat making any trip to the restaurant and swimming pool torturous. A really superb resort, originally a medieval noble 'borgo', luxurious ambiance, beautiful decoration, impeccable championship golf course (designed by Trent Jones), beautiful Tuscan surroundings. Good but slightly understaffed kitchen.

This hotel complex was the ideal base for visiting Tuscany around Siena. We enjoyed a day relaxing around the hotel spa and spent a couple of days visiting Siena and the surrounding towns, villages and countryside. It was a lovely luxurious base to use to visit this part of Tuscany.

This is a medieval "Borgo" (a mini-village in the country side) that was fully restructured and became a 5 star hotel. We have spent a fabulous week-end in this surprising resort.. our room was very comfortable and clean. SPA, golf, gardens.. we had the choice and we truly enjoyed it. We will definitely come back. Also, thanks to the very kind and attentive staff. Very close to Siena too! it takes 10 minutes by car to be in the centre.
