This is by far the best place to totally relax! Everything is taken care of in a way that you feel like you're the only one that matters. The need to explore anything outside the Borgo starts vanishing on the day you arrive. From breakfast till late in the evening, you will feel at ease like you never knew you... More

My boyfriend and I spent a week at the Borgo II Poggiaccio. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff, location, accommodations and food were all excellent. Highly recommend this place if you want a great central location to visit all that Tuscany has to offer!

My family and I just returned from a week in Italy and I can’t say enough good things about ….We all loved it – my two boys (ages 10 and 8) said it was “the best hotel” – they played basketball and tennis and ran around the grounds. We were there on Easter and we had our own Easter Egg... More

We had our wedding here in Sept 2013, and stayed a week. I first contacted Alfredo - the hotel's director - over a year ago. This villa was one of our top contenders - from what we could find online, the rooms looked gorgeous, the landscape beautiful, and the food delicious. After speaking with Alfredo, he swayed us with his... More

The Borgo is the perfect spot for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing and touring in Tuscany. The rooms are large, clean and nicely furnished. They are quite dark, but this is due to the very old building with small windows. The pool is cleaned every day and offers beautiful views over the sorrounding landscape. The restaurant is recommendable,... More

One of the best places for a long summer Italian vacation with children. Spacious, wonderful old stone houses (no need of air conditioning even in the hottest summer), you really feel as in a mediaval small village. You have everything to make your own food, but also possibility to eat in the restaurant with very good quality typical Toscan food.... More

We stayed at this Borgo for a week in June and we loved every minute of it! We were a party of 4 and stayed in the Two-Bedroom-Apartment "Le Arcate". The first bedroom had a double bed with nightstands on each side of the bed, two chairs and a wardrobe. The bathroom is quite spacious with a shower bath. In... More

I was hesitant on picking where to stay in Tuscany because there are so many places it is overwhelming! So I was a little nervous arriving at Borgo Il Poggiaccio, but all of my expectations were surpassed as soon as we entered the driveway. Borgo Il Poggiaccio is a truly stunning medieval residence, the old tuscan stone buildings, the location,... More

Never written a review before, but I have to spread the word - this is an excellent destination if you will be in Tuscany for any length of time and are looking for a beautiful, comfortable and friendly destination with an excellent restaurant. The staff is very accommodating! In fact, the director of the property, Alfredo, learned that I was... More

It takes me ages to pick a place to stay as we have a b&b ourselves in Frithelstock (rural north Devon, Uk). This place stood out but because of the quality of the rooms & facilities (lovely pool, terrace & gardens) I thought it would be too expensive. I was wrong - the place offers excellent value for money. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Historical 14th century hamlet, Borgo il Poggiaccio is situated between Siena and San Gimignano, amid the gently rolling Siena hills, one of the most enchanting landscapes of Tuscany and one of Italy's culturally richest regions. The hamlet has recently been completely restored, but keeping a magic ancient atmosphere. It has in fact a remarkable tradition, both historic and architectural, recently reconstructed in all its magnificence, creating a very romantic medieval atmosphere. In the past in fact it used to be an autonomous, independent structure, with its school, bakery, carpenter and various other activities that even today it is possible to identify through the names of its apartments. All the 14 apartments - different in architecture from each other, and in size from 50 to 140 m2 - have a beautiful open fireplace in the living room and a well equipped kitchen. A 4* Hotel service and breakfast with extensive buffet are included in the price. ... more   less
