We loved many things of our very quiet, one night stay, on a Sunday. Location, tranquility, bird life all around, golf course good, great breakfast and service, and many really interesting rooms in the hacienda. Since we were two of only three staying, it was quiet, and the dinner up at the golf club house was OK food at very... More

Like most Spanish hotels, this one is designed to help guests make the most of the beautiful climate, so staying in January, when it is usually sunny but not quite hot, is quite a test. The rooms, most of which are converted stables, are set around a beautiful courtyard, complete with wandering peacocks, so the doors open straight onto the... More

My husband Juan Antonio Nieto Caballero and I had been planning our wedding for over a year and absolutely fell in love with Montenmedio Golf and Country club. I had been looking forward to our wedding and the night before the wedding I planned to stay with my bridesmaids from Scotland and Australia, my mum and my sister who came... More

My wife and I have been planning our wedding for a very long time and after looking into many places we went for Montenmedio, for the location and for all the promised; basically the best wedding experience ever - it was far from true!! So we got married on the 16th August 2014. First, even though we booked back in... More

Such a lot of potential wasted here! Idyllic setting and lots of tradition and history to appreciate, but... for a 4-star hotel, they were unable to send up a bottle of wine to our room. In fact, they said that they didn't even have any white wine! The pool is in the golf clubhouse - 400m away in a separate... More

Perfect and quiet stay in a very nice hotel hidden in a middle of a Mediterranean forest and golf course. This hotel is an excellent choice if you want to stay in the area of Zahara de los Atunes where you will find good restaurants. The staff of the hacienda is very friendly and there is a modern art exhibition... More

We have stayed here several times and we don't play golf or horse ride. The Hacienda is a relaxing, quiet hotel, apart from the peacock's, which over a period of time you get use to the honking. Typical Spanish style built around a courtyard and fountain. Our room no: 26 has sliding doors onto a terrace, where, when it was... More

The Hacienda is a real 'throwback' in tie. A stunning building built in the classic Spanish quadrangle, in the most-tranquil location imaginable, with peacocks and black Ibis roaming the huge estate and hotel grounds. The rooms are very nice, practical and very clean, if a little dark, again in the old Spanish style. During our stay (6 nights in Oct),... More

For the second time this year we stayed at the Montenmedio for a week of golf. Despite the last weeks heavy rain, the course was in good condition. Demanding but still very playable. The greens was soft but suprisingly fast. This is the place to stay for the golfers who don't want to be distracted of whats going on outside... More

The hotell is charming. A spanish Hacienda. A four star hotel. Excellent service. The food poor. Breakfirst just above what could be accepted on a two star hotel. Dinner menu very simple. they should learn from Restaurant El Castillo in Benahavis. The golf course one of the best in southern Spain in level with the ones in Sotogrande.
