This place is not easy to get to, so that should tell you something. The road here is challenging even when the weather is good. We traveled in December and the rain season was just winding down, so it was not as difficult. Once our taxi delivered us to the beach resort, and the sun was just setting over the... More

A gem of a place, beautiful spot with simple but well done rooms and good service. Food is reasonable too. Beautiful small private beach. Beautiful public beach next door - but was crowded and noisy and littered (it's public!) so we mostly stayed in the hotel grounds. You can eat in the hotel or walk out the gate to the... More

We spent a night here. It was so beautiful and tranquil, very laid back. We came in from Baracoa, road is rough and you can easily miss the sign pointing in the direction of the beach. One day we came for the beach, stopped in on route to Humboldt Park and spent the afternoon swimming and sunbathing there. Staff was... More

Although the beach is amazing, you still get that same water 100m up the road at a 1/6 of the price and with better offer for food and drinks. We spent the first night in the Villa, but next day we moved to one of the particular houses on the beach. The place was poorly run and the room wasn't... More

My husband and I chose to stay at Villa Maguana for 4 nights during our honeymoon as our one splash out and concession to 'luxury' - at 96 CUC (GBP 50) it was almost 5 times the price of the casa particulares in Baracoa (NB, if you book the room via Cubatur in Baracoa town and pay in advance through... We stayed at Villa Maguana for only one night, as a brief getaway from the hustle of Santiago and Baracoa (although Baracoa is a very charming, quaint, almost quiet town). Although only 20 km away from Baracoa, it takes almost an hour to get there as the roads are very bad, but once you are there, it is a little... More

The Villa is fair for a rural area like this. The beach, on the contrary, is just awesome: great service on the beach itself, crystal clear waters, comfy sand, great diving sea bottom, friendly locals and a lot of treats on the shady beach sands. Lovely place to visit. 4 stars that villa, 5 stars the beach.

This is a lovely, quiet, relaxing villa complex right next to the beach. The beach of the hotel is relatively small but you can walk through a gate to a much bigger public beach. It's great if you want a relaxing and more isolated place to stay. However it is 20km from Baracoa town which isn't a very each journey... More

To reach the Villa in about 20 kilometers outside of Baracoa on a very rough road. Even bad for Cuba, for the 20 KM we needed about 50 minutes. But then a dream comes thru, beautiful setup of the Villas at one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen. Not many people on the beach, the staff is very... More

We stayed here for the final two days of our holiday, after staying in casas for the rest of the trip. Our room was very nice and was a good size with two beds, a nice balcony and air con. It was lacking some simple things like glasses for drinks (we only had one), pillows (we had two and they... More
