We stayed at Villa Maguana for only one night, as a brief getaway from the hustle of Santiago and Baracoa (although Baracoa is a very charming, quaint, almost quiet town). Although only 20 km away from Baracoa, it takes almost an hour to get there as the roads are very bad, but once you are there, it is a little... More

The Villa is fair for a rural area like this. The beach, on the contrary, is just awesome: great service on the beach itself, crystal clear waters, comfy sand, great diving sea bottom, friendly locals and a lot of treats on the shady beach sands. Lovely place to visit. 4 stars that villa, 5 stars the beach.

This is a lovely, quiet, relaxing villa complex right next to the beach. The beach of the hotel is relatively small but you can walk through a gate to a much bigger public beach. It's great if you want a relaxing and more isolated place to stay. However it is 20km from Baracoa town which isn't a very each journey... More

To reach the Villa in about 20 kilometers outside of Baracoa on a very rough road. Even bad for Cuba, for the 20 KM we needed about 50 minutes. But then a dream comes thru, beautiful setup of the Villas at one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen. Not many people on the beach, the staff is very... More

We stayed here for the final two days of our holiday, after staying in casas for the rest of the trip. Our room was very nice and was a good size with two beds, a nice balcony and air con. It was lacking some simple things like glasses for drinks (we only had one), pillows (we had two and they... More

Only stayed one night, and wished it had been longer. Considering where it is this hotel is amazing. The rooms are in blocks of 4 on 2 levels, resembling swiss chalets. The rooms are spacious and air conditioned, just far enough back from the coastline not to get seawater in the rooms!! Unfortunately there was a tour group staying so... More

If you are looking for an idyllic setting far from commercial tourism this is it. Baracoa is off the beaten track for Cuban tourism and the Villa Maguana is well outside Baracoa. Europeans have found it, but not Canadians. First of all the road is no big deal, nothing worth whining about. If you are riding a bike it is... More

Close to Baracoa (but watch out for the bad road...it's worth it, though!) a nice 'villa' where you can relax. There's mothing more to do than to relax, but it's a beautifull place to stay. There's a little private beach and about 100 meters away there's a public beach where in weekends many locals stay.

This place was one of the best hotels we stayed in. It's location is super beautiful close to the amazing National Park Alexander Humboldt. The hotel has four bungalows that have a vwry high standard right by the beach with an outdoor restaurant, super nice people, abs great food. Through its location right next to the beach (Atlantic ocean) and... More

We (4 pacs) were there in December 2012, sorry for writing this one and a half years later. The only bad thing (relative... see few lines later) about Villa Maguana is the road to there: it is just some 20km north of Baracoa on the road to Moa, but it takes 50 to 60 minutes to get there for the...
