OK, maybe "luxury" is a bit of an exaggeration. Cape Breton is one of the must-see places on the Atlantic Coast and it's about as far north as you can go without getting salt water on your tires. The Cabot Trail is a a must-see drive and you should make sure to do some hikes and visit some of the... More

The ocean, the gazebo, the restaurant - everything was spot on and beautiful. Our stay was in a room, not a cottage, and value for our money was high although there weren't a lot of amenities in the room (no tv, no fridge). It was a decent size, though, and did have a small couch and high, high ceilings. The... More

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in one of the Log cabins (#13). Nicely equipped cabin (although the Wifi was a bit hit and miss). The cabin had a nice view of the ocean and the beach was great. The continental breakfast included was very nice with quite a wide choice. We ate in the restaurant on 2... More

We stayed for one night at the Markland in early August in a "log room." The scenery is breathtaking and we were only sorry we could not arrange to stay longer as the combination of wide green lawn, beach and ocean views is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We also had a lovely dinner at the Markland's restaurant: my teenagers were... More

We stayed three nights at the Markland as we were touring Cape Breton. We had a log room which was perfect for us and the view was stunning (I believe we were in #6). There is a little path down to the beach -- we saw a couple of people swimming on the first day, but, it got too cold... More

My friends stayed here and I was lucky enough to visit for the day it was so nice to be so close to amazing views along the Cape. We totally enjoyed one of the most amazing meals in their on site restaurant. We also enjoyed playing a few of the many board games in the main room. I totally enjoyed... More

My husband and I spent one night here and wished we had time to stay at least three days. The scenery from the log cabins was breathtaking and the bed and pillows were so comfy in the cozy cabin. The room was immaculate. We could see the ocean from our bed out the French doors. We ate dinner at their... More

We had a group of 4 at the Markland and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the super cozy log rooms (bedroom + bathroom) on a dramatic bluff overlooking the water. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - Kim especially - and they had a delicious buffet breakfast where we overindulged each morning. If you're looking for a quiet... More
