The rooms are OK, clean, comfortable, if not luxurious. Its a small family run place, so if you are used to larege corporates, you may be disappointed. For me, its worth going back just for the restaurant.

If you stay at this little hotel you have to eat in the superbe restaurant!!! Rooms are renovated but bathrooms tiny and only partially renovated. Very friendly staff. You need a car to get around (approx 10 minutes from Castellane)

Our room felt marginally clean. We were upfront, right on the road. Despite it being in the middle of nowhere, the occasional traffic that passes is going high speed and woke us up repeatedly. The beds were just OK. Not much in the way of warm and fuzzy here. Most important, this hotel is several miles outside of town, way too... More

If not to sleep over at least stop over for lunch or dinner. It's a great place en route to the Gorges du Verdon and Castellane and parking is no problem. Restaurant provides delicious Provençal dishes with a varied choice of fixed price menus too. The rooms are small and the ones along the road are a little noisy due... More

Make no mistake, this is an excellent restaurant which is situated at la garde about 5kms from Castellane. Upon arriving we were cordially greeted by the very friendly staff who immediately recognised our deficiency in the French language and offered us menus in English which we are glad we accepted. The ambience is extremely tasteful and interesting. We ordered off... More

The food was delicious and very consistant with a few little extra inbetween sort of dishes (mise en bouche, trou provençal etc.) Price of menus are affordable (30€ for a lovely Lavande influenced menu), excellent wine list. Only the waitress is a bit, let's say, different and doesn't really match the standard of the place but she still does an... More

The Auberge is small and so are its rooms which are kept superclean. Bed sheets and towels were smelling so fresh I could stay another day just in bed. The location on the Napoleon road, a main throughfare, is not a problem at all. There a very few cars passing at night (maybe in summer it could be different). We... More

When you arrive and find a sheet of paper on the door saying ' Fermeture exceptionelle' you would probably agree that you don't immediately feel very welcome, well, this feeling stayed throughout the next 18 hours. An arrogance pervades this place, that clearly believes that the kitchen, and maybe, the Chef,  will solve all its problems. Wrong! Route Napoleon has... More

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago as we we were keen to walk in the nearby Gorges du Verdon. We were made welcome as soon as we arrived & shown to our room. It was very clean & comfortable & though small had everything we required & a beautiful view out the... More

Very welcoming staff, cosy rooms and a perfect little bathroom. Free wifi once you ask for the code. The restaurant seems a little expensive at a glance, but is int fact well worth the money. Classic french cuisine, lots of variety in the menu, huge portions- excellent! In all, well worth the cost. Two things to note, the rooms are... More
