Just returned with my family of 4 from a month in Italy and Spain and staying with Laura and Luciano at Il Canto del Sole is one of our most memorable and special times. Laura and Luciano are genuinely welcoming and kind people, the type of people I would love to have to my home for dinner. The evening we... More

This is a slice of Heaven. From the minute we arrived, we have felt so welcomed and cared for. The grounds are beautifully kept, the room comfortable, and the food is fantastic! There are rooms to hold families or just couples. The breakfast spread is fit for a King and the homemade dinner was fresh from the garden. This is... More

The hosting family were very helpful and generous. We really enjoyed our stay with them. We were able to enjoy dinner prepared by the family + staff one evening and thoroughly savored every bite. The surrounding fields lush with poppies and Scotch Broom were the "stuff of impressionism." Late May was a great time to visit this region.

Great B & B. Out in the countryside in Tuscany. Found through Rick Steves' travel book. It was exactly as described in the book. We only stayed one night, but this would be a great location to stay a week and take day trips to the coast, Florence, Siena, through Tuscany, Pisa, etc. Could be a little hard to find... More

We stayed 3 nights here at this wonderful B & B. After touring Paris, Lake Como, Venice, Florence and Cinque Terre this was an oasis of rest and relaxation most needed. We loved the family, the location, our room, the views, the veranda, the salt water pool... Laura and Luciano were so accommodating and wonderful to visit with. They made... More

We stayed 4 nights at Il Canto del Sole travelling with our 5 month old baby. Everything about our stay was perfect, the location is great; we visited Siena, Chianti, San Gimignano, Montalcino and Montepulciano returning late afternoon each day for a dip in the pool. The surroundings were so tranquil it was very restful for us after having visited... More

What a fabulous retreat! If you have been looking for the right place to stay in Tuscany or near Siena, this is it! From the views, to the fun and ambiance, Luciano and Laura will make you feel right at home--as does the friendly and lovely family black Labrador. We only had time to stay one night...which was way too... More

We had a wonderful stay at Canto Del Sole. It is a small farm with well kept rooms and a swimming pool. The innkeepers, Luciano and Laura are wonderful. They are charming, make you feel welcome and are very helpful. It is located 10K south of Sienna. The breakfast is amazing. Need a car but a great location for Sienna... More

We spent five nights in May at Canto del Sole and felt as if we were home. Laura and Luciano have created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are quiet, comfortable and well appointed. While we were there, Laura prepared two sumptuous, Tuscan meals where we were able to meet and converse with the other guests. Luciano's wine suggestions for... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"IL CANTO DEL SOLE" is an old 18 th century Tuscan farmhouse. We have recently restored it, preserving all its original features. The Farmhouse offers 10 rooms, each furnished with the simple furniture originally found in them, which has been carefully restored. The rooms are all very light and airy and offer a complete range of facilities: satellite TV, fridge, bathroom with shower and hair dryer. Both structures are surrounded by around one hectare of shady gardens, immersed in the heart of the crete senesi countryside. They are just 10 km from Siena (Porta Romana) and 1 km from the "Grancia di Cuna" (a 13 th century fortified farmhouse on the Via Francigena). We offer our guests: a salt water swimming pool (7 x 14), children's play areas, a barbecue area and a panoramic terrace above our wine cellar, with views over the Val d'Arbia. During the winter, breakfast and dinner are served in a large dining room with a central fireplace, while during the summer, they are served in the external courtyard.A pool table and a selection of games are available to guests in the lemon room, adjacent to the lounge. In addition to cooking, we (Luciano and Laura) are at your complete disposal for any information or suggestions for walks, mountain biking, horse riding and car excursions. In addition to the gardens, we also have around three hectares of land where you will find our horses' paddocks, a small vineyard and vegetable crops grown exclusively for use by our family and our guests. ... more   less
