The hotel structure and interior design is a bit odd, a combination between old and new. But they manage to pull it off. Just. The cheap rooms are as small as you would exepect and the breakfast is typical Italian, ie nothing you would pay extra for. But nevertheless, the staff is fantastic to the point that it actually makes... More

My wife and I booked a package which included this hotel. I read the reviews and checked in not knowing what to expect as the reviews are mixed. We love the hotel with its history and feel of stepping back to a simpler time. The room is clean and well kept up. Towels are changed and the room is cleaned... More

Hotel Villa Casagrande is a magical property, typical for Tuscany until the last detail. Excellent location, yard, winery, landscape, views, location etc The rooms are not great and in October it took a little longer to heat the room. Don't expect high quality wi-fi, that's just on paper. The personnel was kind, but cold, less involved. Nothing on their own... More

Stayed here with the better half 5 nights in October. Have to agree with most of the other reviews: beautiful in historical terms (popes stayed here), rooms on the whole good but not outstanding. But then: it's three stars, so don't expect five star service. Location is very covenient, close to Florence, about an hour from Siena, and lots of... More

What a pleasant surprise! Our Tour group from Celtic Tours Italy trip booked us here for three nights. Figline Valdamo is a walled city which is pretty neat in itself. What is further unique is that the villa is literally built into the wall of the city. The villa features a beautifully landscaped garden in the back, aa well as... More

I recently stayed at this hotel with a tour of 33 people. The history of the hotel, common areas and winery is fabulous and beautiful. But as hotel, it is just okay. The rooms are average, the maintenance subpar and the breakfast buffet poor. Often when the rooms were cleaned we didn't clean towels, or the toiletries were replaced. I think... More

We had dinner and a wine tasting in Casagrande, but we didn't stay here overnight. The wine tasting was conducted in Italian, which meant that we unfortunately didn't understand all of it. However, we were shown around a wonderful wine museum with old artifacts from the 18th century and then went on the wine tasting in a very atmospheric setting.... More

We booked one of the few appartments at villa casagrande because of the strategic position in Tuscany. 30 minutes by train to Florence and also rather close to Arrezo, Greve in Chianti and Sienna. Unfornately the appartment we were given was not clean, mould in the shower, and also the toiletbrush was disguisting. Also don't expect any dishwash soap or... More

This hotel was the most atmospheric and magical place I have stayed in Italy. It is a 14th century walled palazzo in the small, friendly and busy town of Figline Valdarno, only 25 km from Florence. Walking through the gardens one evening I realized that there was no trace of the 21st century in sight with just the ancient walls,... More

We just came back from 10 days at Hotel Casagrande. It is a stunning, partly ancient place in a beautiful little village in Toscane. We really liked the place but have a few general comments and would not recommend going their with small children. First, the hotel advertises with a nice outdoor pool but on arrival we found out that... More
