The map on the ibis website makes the hotel look like it is just off the motorway between Florence and Pisa, which is is. However it is very very difficult to find, despite following the directions given by ibis. It was only by chance after driving around the area for about 20 or 30 minutes that we came upon the... more

On a recent European trip my wife and I, and a small group of friends, stayed in three Ibis hotels, namely; Laon, Stuttgart City and Firenze Prato Est. With good service and food from the Restaurant at Laon, and good bar snacks and service from the Ibis at Stuttgart City we not unreasonably expected a similar standard of catering and... more

If you want to get to the centre of Florence with public transport easily, I won't recommend this hotel. However, if you have your own car it will be an excellent hotel for you. We followed the instructions of mickodwyer of 18 September 2007, but still ended up buying the wrong bus tickets. The first ticket seller you get to... more

Do not stay here if you rely on public transport. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. The hotel is a 45 minute train ride from Florence, followed by a 15 euro cab fare from the train station. We asked for directions at the tourist office initially, and they told us that there were buses running, though they were unsure... more

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a larger tour group from Cosmos. It's a newly built, modern styled hotel with basic furnishings in the room, but a nice, bright spacious bathroom. However there is no room safe as in other modern hotels! There seems very little to see or do within easy walking distance of the hotel, so... more

Having stayed in a number of Ibis hotels we had expected the same helpful service - but such was not the case. The accommodation standard was good but the service was terrible. The hotel is about 5 klms from Prato Central Railway Station ( a 10-15 min bus trip) and the largest supermarket in the Prato is located less the... more

For the independent traveller staying outside Florence and using public transport to get into town would seem a good solution to high priced accommodation and acute parking difficulties in central Florence. With this in mind we stayed at this hotel in Oct 2005 and had a miserable time. Firstly we found there is no direction connection by public transport from... more
