Stayed 1 night in a pretty modern room at 700 Birr which was expensive but reasonable value for money. The room itself would not be out of place in many cities around the world. 20 Birr from bus station. Room had comfortable double bed, fridge, WIFI which worked OK (they plugged router in to my room) and big balcony with... More

As other reviewers have said - this is not a bad hotel, good rooms, clean. I found the staff OK and had no problems. Lively street just outside and not far to the walled city. You will need a guide. I travelled with FKLM-Tours who provided an excellent guide. Harar itself is well worth a visit.

Harar has not great and bad options of hotels - especially if you are not into home stays with shared bathrooms. I stayed two nights at this hotel. The rooms are large. The bed is comfortable. There is no lobby - there is a coffee shop/bar on the first floor and you go to the cake case/ counter to check... More

I have to begin by saying that I am usually pretty easy to please and this is the first negative review that I have ever written. I was booked into the Winta Hotel but having experienced the rude, abrupt and greedy manner in which I was dealt with by the owner/manager I paid a cancellation fee and changed to the... More

Stayed at this hotel twice now. Right outside of town and close to family homes. Nice, clean rooms, great staff, and incredibly helpful owner. Dani is a hands-on, motivated owner and goes above and beyond for his guests. He made us feel welcome and treated us like family on our second trip. He arranged a last minute breakfast for 11... After having spent an awful night in an underground room at Ras Hotel, Winta was such a relief! Which does not mean it is a good hotel, but everything is relative. At least it is brighter, the rooms cleaner, the shower was functioning, there was WiFi (intermittently) at the reception (and NOT in the rooms as was claimed by the... More

I happened to arrive at this hotel without reservation. The owner told me a would have a single room at 570 birrs for the next day. When I told him it was too expensive, he answered me : " Don't worry, we'll find an arrangement. On the next day I showed up and asked for a proposition. He proposed me... More

We stayed here for two nights. The room was large and somewhat clean if you did not open the curtain and see that the windows and sills had not been washed since it opened. The light switches had black streaks and the walls could have been wiped down in a few places. The bed was OK but the sheets thread-bare... More

I don't quite know where to start with this review! The room was big, clean with attached bathroom and large balcony. Harar had had no electricity for a week when we stayed and the hotel shut off their generator at 9pm so there was no TV after that and none in the morning. No chance to shower either. The staff... Anyone looking into lodging in Harar knows that there are few hotels that offer creature comforts. If you’re looking for a bit more than just a place to rest your head, Winta Hotel will be the place for you. It is located right at the entrance to the New Town. (Turn left at the Total Gas Station at the rotary... More
