Stayed there for 3 nights over New Year's Eve, actually for the second time. I enjoyed cross-country skiing in the area a lot. There are plenty of tracks nearby; however, I think the preparation machines could be out doing their job more often. Anyhow. And by the way, the Alpine slope is more or less for beginners (or kids), so... More

Been here many times both for business and vacation. The buffets here are amazing and you will find something for everybody. Its a nice place for biking/hiking in the summer and the best area in Norway for cross-country skiing with a 360 panorama view. I also went downhill skiing in Hemsedal and it was great, its about 35 min drive... More

I brought my kids back for Fall break and we had a blast. - The hotel had a nice kids program. We went hiking, horesback riding, swimming.. there was a kids club for my 10 year old. The staff, as always, was fantastic.. FRIENDLY .. each and every one of them. We stopped in Gol on the way home and... More

Storefjell Hotel is located on the Golfjellet massif along with several other resorts. The place is often packed, by families in winter and tourist groups in summer. The hotel is big and has a lot of rooms that could need to be freshened up, but the personal is helpful and will do what they can if you have a problem.... More

Herr Foresti, Thank you for your review. We are glad to see that you like our buffet, and we take pride in serving such a great food every night all year around. I just spent the weekend at Storefjell and was very impressed with the experience. - We had nothing but genuine hospitality the entire stay -... from the front desk, dinning room, room attendents. - The hotel is large.. yet maintains a family feel to it. -Around every corner there was something to find.,.piano bar, library, swimming pool, hot tubs.. We... More

Storefjell is extremely big, it lies like a hospital or a ferry in the landscape seen from the outside. The size itself makes it very impersonal, so is the service. The dining hall and common areas are a blast from the 80s with dark, crammed areas and massive pink decorations, and the newer room areas are, again, so massive they... More

Business trip for 4 nights. This resort has a great spot in Norway, a little hard to get there, but well worth the effort - surroundings are spectacular! trecking is possible with lots of paths. Running is possible, but extremely hard! Mountain Bike could be lots of fun, though I didnt try it... Hotel has a decent fitness room, a... More

Lars Henrik, Thank you for this kind review. Our surroundings are indeed spectacular and one of our best advantages. You should also come and experience the winter up here. The cross country skiing-tracks are truly amazing, and for those who does not like to cross country ski, it is also posible to walk on the side of these tracks. We... More

Suddenly we needed to stay over night in Gol and we called around a few hours before arrival. Many places were full, but luckily we got a room at Storefjell Resort Hotel. The journey from the centre of Gol took about 20 - 30 minutes, including slow traffic due to road-construction. The hotel is easy to spot, as it sits... More
