We booked this hotel on Sept 15th 2009 for a ski-ing holiday in Hemsedal, to arrive on Dec 2nd 2009. On November 30th the hotel rang to say that they were not really open, and there would be no dinner available. They would do a self service breakfast (which was fine). The hotel is 5 km from Hemsedal, about 1000m above the village- so its a long walk to and from the village. We stayed, as therewas no other accommodation available at such short notice. Dinner was served in house on Thurs, Fri and Saturady, but no choice. On sat night, after a long day ski-ing, we got belly of pork, which I thought was pet food, rather than fit for human. I have never been driven to enter a review before, but this was a very expensive hotel, providing nothing by way of food or comfort for an active outdoor holiday. We were also freezing in the place!! Moved out on the sunday night, to the Alpin Lodge at the Ski Centre. Much better value and excellent food more
