We had one of the b st meals I can recall of in the UK. The lamb shank was superb, the skate succulent and the normally mundane sticky toffee pudding a delight. Better Han its sister restaurant at Langass Lodge where we stayed. World class in a very remote part of the world.

We stayed in a B&B in Lochmaddy for 3 nights and had two very good meals at the Hamersay House. Excellent service. Good menu. Good food. There are not many good restaurants around in North Uist but Hamersay is the best that we could find for good local produce.

My mother and I stayed at the Hamersay House for two nights during a tour of the Hebbrides with Rabbie's last autumn. We had a lovely stay. The hotel rooms and common areas are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and answered any questions we had about the hotel and local area. We had lovely breakfasts and... I really wanted to say something about this memorable pleasant stay, superb food from the Chef, and so helpful staff, who tracked me with messages to solve me getting a roof ! A definite lighthouse for travelers, no fuss, simple, quite, warm and friendly, I felt so rested after these nights...

A great modern hotel. Rooms well furnished and reasobably spacious. Good restaurant with a wide choice of many. Nice cocktail bar. All staff particularly friendly and could not do enough for you. Not cheap, but worth the little extra.

This well appointed hotel is stylishly decorated in a modern, nautical theme. The rooms are well equipped, reasonable wi-fi strength, lovely views and very friendly staff. The menu is quite limited and above average cost, but everything we ate was well cooked, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. For breakfast I would highly recommend the porridge - best of the holiday!... More

Used the showers when sailing in Western Isles- great, reasonably priced, lovely towels and very friendly staff. I left my purse in the shower and the owner very kindly contacted my bank and gave my purse to the local police- a great help.

Visited this hotel while on a cycling trip. Arrived after a long and very wet cycle ride from Polochar. Made very welcome by Nicola on arrival despite being rain sodden and dripping all over the wood floorboard entrance. Shoes dispatched to the boiler room to dry out and a very welcome jug of hot coffee immediately brought to our room.... More

Called in while on a sailing trip. After many nights on the boat we were ready to splash out on a good meal ashore and this appeared a more upmarket alternative to the hotel. This was confirmed by one of the locals, and a beer in the hotel also gave that impression (although the hotel menu sounded pretty good). The... More

Our room was beautifully designed with a huge, comfortable bed and crisp linens. The bath, with its deep soaking tub and excellent toiletries, was the best we encountered in the Islands. We had a great view of loch. Everything felt posh, deluxe and first-rate.
