Fantastic stay here. Room superb with lovely view. Great toiletries and facilities. Dinner very good indeed, with wide choice and beautifully cooked. Service very good. Great all round - as simple as that. One not to miss.

Attractive bistro style restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the sharing seafood platter starter - delicious and great value for money. My duck main was good and the sponge dessert was very tasty. Selection of reasonably priced wines. Service was generally good, although sometimes not very intuitive. My wife and my father-in-law ordered steaks and these were both overcooked. Medium rare came out... More

We booked one night here with dinner at Langass Lodge with friends as a birthday treat. When leaving to go out to dinner we asked at reception what time the front door was closed and whether we needed the room key to open it, because we were going to be late coming back. On being assured the front door was... More

Visited here recently only because Langass Lodge was full. I have to say I was a little worried as compared to Langass most places fall greatly short. However my worries were totally unjustified, very pleasantly surprised indeed. It was excellent in everyway, clearly benefitting from its new ownership and management. Well worth the visit.

Hamersay House is a lovely clean and modern hotel with welcoming staff. We'd particularly looked forward to this hotel as it has a steam room and sauna. After our cycle ride from Harris it was just what we needed. Our room was comfortable but at the back of the hotel so we didn't have a view. We ate in the... More

We stayed for a couple of nights in June, The hotel was booked months in advance and I rang ahead to check that we had a room with a decent view as advertised only to be curtly told that we were at the side facing the car park and that she wasn't changing the rooms. I was extremely disappointed as... More

The hotel is now painted blue rather than red as in the photos. We checked in and were given a room but found it was the disabled room - no apology nor explanations been offered. This room is awful- the window is directly onto the entrance path, the door is entirely route to the public area toilets and gym, the... More

My husband and I booked two double rooms for ourselves and friends in July 2013 (Eleven months before we were due) to ensure that we had excellent rooms as requested. I was assured that all would be well and confirmation was received at the time of booking and again in January 2014. Unfortunately the ferry was late and we could... More

This was our first trip to Uist and we booked Hamersay House after first being recommended to the Langass Lodge and being disappointed because Langass was fully booked for the nights we wanted. Hamersay was until recently the Tigh Dearg and painted Cherry Red. I mention this because the old name is listed in the current editions of several guides... More

The accommodation had EVERYTHING this Tripadvisor reviewer wants . In fact I want the Hamersay to be everywhere I go – it was that good ! The room was really spacious with everything you need – plenty of laying out space, hanging space and a large and roomy bathroom and shower . Power points in abundance, bedroom chairs, a place...
