Brilliant welcome- relaxed, effectively friendly staff and everything works- excellent rooms and the food- well- great A big thank you- and thank you for my continental breafast as I left early fior the ferry- great mushroom omlette at breakfast- One niggle not confined to Hammersley House, but large stretches of the island- very poor mobile signal!

We arrived late at night to a VERY warm welcome. The staff were very friendly, the room comfortable. There was a very good selection of food for breakfast, the porridge was really good great. The food in the evening excellant - a bit cheaper than Langass but just as good. Were happy to provide fresh milk for tea in room.

A wonderful place to stay. Tasteful, elegant, clean with helpful and considerate staff. The restaurant is described as bistro style and is definitely fine dining with homemade food, locally sourced and beautifully presented. Booking is almost essential as it's reputation grows and spreads. A gem in a beautiful wild island.

The rooms were very comfortable and cosy, with everything you needed. The food was plentiful and tasty. The only criticism is that the service did not live up to the image that the hotel was trying to portray itself as. This was only a minor issue however, as the overall impression we received was very good indeed.

We didn't stay here, just ate in the bar but the bar was very cosy, staff friendly and food excellent. They have the most reasonably priced wine list I've seen on the islands so far and their house malbec was great. A nice short menu encompassing fresh local ingredients cooked to perfection.

Not cheap, and almost perfect but not quite. From booking to check-in and throughout the evening that the 6 of us spent at Hamersay House we had excellent and friendly service. Cycles safely stowed behind the hotel, check-in was quick and straightforward. The rooms were large and clean with comfortable bed, good sized en-suite showers with top of the range... More

Fantastic stay here. Room superb with lovely view. Great toiletries and facilities. Dinner very good indeed, with wide choice and beautifully cooked. Service very good. Great all round - as simple as that. One not to miss.

Attractive bistro style restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the sharing seafood platter starter - delicious and great value for money. My duck main was good and the sponge dessert was very tasty. Selection of reasonably priced wines. Service was generally good, although sometimes not very intuitive. My wife and my father-in-law ordered steaks and these were both overcooked. Medium rare came out... More

We booked one night here with dinner at Langass Lodge with friends as a birthday treat. When leaving to go out to dinner we asked at reception what time the front door was closed and whether we needed the room key to open it, because we were going to be late coming back. On being assured the front door was... More

Visited here recently only because Langass Lodge was full. I have to say I was a little worried as compared to Langass most places fall greatly short. However my worries were totally unjustified, very pleasantly surprised indeed. It was excellent in everyway, clearly benefitting from its new ownership and management. Well worth the visit.
