Travelled to Uist on the day Scotland was being battered by the tail end of hurricane Bertha. Ferry late and arrived to a lovely welcome and room that was sanctuary. Very tidy and spotless room which was perfect after the day's travel. Breakfast was all freshly prepared the next morning. Great host, lovely room and great food.

We stayed for two nights. Rooms are fresh and clean. Hosts are perfect, welcoming and warm and not intrusive. Breakfast is cooked to the order you make the night before. The chickens in the garden provide the eggs and they also provide some entertainment

We stayed here for one night in June 2014 and wished it could have been for longer! However it is not surprising that The Rowan Tree was already fully booked for the following nights because this is B and B at its very best. The bedroom was large and very well presented, with a wonderful picture window and comfortable chairs,... More

I stayed one night only, but the room on the road side on the ground floor was exactly what I needed! Spacious with en suite, made a great stay. Very friendly hosts and great breakfast. Definitely one to recommend for anyone.

This was a perfect stopover.the accommodation is clean, we'll appointed and welcoming. Linda and Alistair are great hosts. The breakfasts are just right to start the day and Alistair cooks a mean evening meal.

We arrived at the Rowan Tree at 8.30pm after a long day's cycling from Portree in Skye, via the hills of Harris, to find a warm welcome from Linda. She showed us to a very comfortable room with a large double bed and a good bathroom. Despite our late arrival we had a delicious meal of hearty home-cooking - perfect.... More

Everything you could ask for - welcoming, comfortable. Excellent amenities. Linda was extremely helpful and friendly right from making the booking through to the end of our stay. Really fabulous views and location. We cold enjoy sitting in the garden out onto a picturesque view. Very peaceful. A lovely breakfast. Close to a great walk in the local area too.... More

We stayed for three nights as part of a two-week long trip up the western isles, with only two full days on North Uist. Linda was very welcoming and friendly from the initial booking through to the end of our stay. As other reviewers have noted, there isn't a huge choice of places to eat nearby, or on North Uist,... Our first stay on the Outer Hebrides and our seven day stay at the Rowan Tree, looked after by Linda and Alistair, turned out to be a special time. A large, spacious, well decorated, double room, with loads of storage space was our home for the week and the stunning views out of the window even included glimpses of St... More
