We stayed for one night on our trip along the islands. We ha a ground floor room, which was a very large double. The room was very well presented and the bed was comfy. Other reviews have had issue with the owners not being on site, but I found this quite relaxing as you don't feel as if you are... More

As per previous reviewers this is a guest house with a DIY difference... very nice room just a few hundred yards from the Lochmaddy ferryport on North Uist...and a kitchen to use as you wish..handy for campers/travellers with their own food to cook..continental breakfast all laid out in the morning for you... overall a decent experience

Redburn House is an unusual B&B. The owners don't live in the place, which makes it a bit strange. In fact it has the feel of a hostel about it and lacks the hospitality of a more traditional B&B. The place is modern and, in the main, very clean. Maggie welcomed me on arrival and it was a nice welcome.... More

I really enjoyed my stay here although it is not quite a normal B&B. You have to get your own breakfast - lots of cereals, fruit, yogurt etc but the cold croissant and scone were unappetising unless put in the oven to warm. There were cold meats and cheese supplied as you would get in Germany or Holland. I requested... More

Lovely, warm welcome. Outstanding hospitality, clean cosy and modern rooms with ensuite, good overall standard. Only one and a half minute drive from the Uig-Lochmaddy ferry. Don't look any further, specially if you arrive in the evening with the late ferry and want to come inside and let the day's impressions sink in. The pictures on the website don't do... More

Conveniently close to the ferry, the bus and other facilities in Lochmaddy, Redburn House offers basic accommodation, more like a hostel than a B&B, so £85.00 for a twin room was expensive. Our self-service breakfast left in the fridge included mouldy fruit and cheese and, like another reviewer (although we didn't meet him, we saw the note he left on... More

My one night stay was on the whole pleasant. At £75 for two people however this was the most expensive B&B of my week long tour of the Isles. The rooms are clean and suitable. However the breakfast is unappealing - cereals, some ill looking cold meat, stale 'croissants' (stored in the fridge overnight) and cheap concentrate juice. What topped... More

We stayed one night at Redburn House en route to the ferry last summer. We were very comfortable in the twin room at the back of the house, which I remember had a really good shower. As the only guests we had a lovely time in the morning with the super big kitchen all to ourselves and we really appreciated... More

I cannot say enough about Redburn, the service was second to none, and they really went the extra mile, literally as the owner gave us a lift to and back to a restaurant 5 miles away!! The room had a beautiful seaview and was clean and well equipped. The DIY breakfast had a huge selection and the come when you... More

We stayed in the Studio annexe for 4 nights. We found the previous (2010) reviews misleading. Agree about the 'absent' manager and needing a mobile phone signal tocontact her as mentioned in general reviews about the B&B facility. Again, our experience differed from recent users of the B&B facility. We found the Studio grubby and uncomfortable. No CD/DVD as advertised... More
