The funky "locker room" smell in the corridors I could sort of put up with, but no Freeview TV is just unacceptable these days. It's hardly rocket science! The room was very basic, the food very basic. There's lots of other hotels on the Islands, only stay here as a last resort.

We had a two night stay here while on a coach tour of the Outer Hebrides. Our room on the ground floor was comfortable and clean with view over the garden to the road 100 metres away so was quiet. (Does it ever get noisy here?) The food was good. The nearby beach at the rear of the hotel a... More

this hotel was our base for a coach tour of the uists, barra and vatersay. expectations were'nt high, this is a tiny remote habitation on the edge of the world after all. some negative reviews didn't help but this was great. rooms were compact but cosy and slept like a log every night. never switched the tv. on and the... We stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour of the Outer Hebredies. We can't understand the negative reports made by other people. We all thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay, food and accomodation. This hotel is not a five star so what do people expect!!! We would certainly go back there. The surroundings were incredible and... More

An ideal setting for a short walk to the most beautiful white-sanded beach with views of the outer-Hebrides machine of alpine flowers leading to a paddle or swim in the Atlantic Ocean. If you are lucky, like we were, you will see curious seals who love to watch you. We had a restful sleep & good food - but the... More

This is just about 2 star. To be fair, the food is ok and what you would expect, if you had low expectations. Rooms were last refurbished when Bonnie Prince Charlie was on the run. They are dark, small, lumpy and lack modern facilities. Handy location, but use a local b&b.

A little expensive considering the standard of rooms and facilities. The room I was in had very thin curtains and I was woken up by the light around 6am.Evening meal was tasty enough but hot smoked salmon fillet was on the small side with 8 boiled potatoes and a basic salad. Try the Stepping Stones Restaurant a few miles away for... More

Four of us stayed for one night here after a long cycle. Manager pleasant enough and offered B&B £200, excessive. Given two young lads with were tired we had little option. We had a good shower and were looking forward to dinner. Two of us ordered burger and chips and two young lads had chicken kebabs. Unfortunately burgers and chips... More

I can see why there is such a large range of posts for this hotel as our group (40+ people) had vastly different experiences/opinions. Unfortunately we were put in a very small room on the first floor which looked as though nothing had changed for about thirty years. There wasn't really any sort of welcome, the TV belongs in a...
