Was on the island for work and booked a room prior to traveling was charged £80 b&b for a twin single bed room single occupancy. Room was clean bedding clean en suite toilet very small and had a slight mouldy odour. Kettle did not work. Ate in the bar the regular hand battered haddock chips and peas was reasonable value... Arrived from the airport to a reasonably looking hotel from the exterior. It all goes wrong after you enter through the door. Staff throughout our stay were unwelcoming, unpleasant and in need of serious customer service training. Food was awful - obviously heavy handed with salt on everything. Rooms were basic but bathrooms need upgraded. Spoke to a few locals... More

This hotel hasn't changed at all since I stayed there a few years ago. The reception and bar areas are very pleasant and comfortable. Checking in was quick and easy. I ate in the bar, I ordered scallops and black pudding as a starter and haddock and chips for the main. Service was quick and the food was good. Prices... More

We stayed here as part of a group tour. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable but rather dated- in fact the whole hotel was 1960's. Breakfast was excellent but we had the inevitable 'Tour menu' in the evening. This really was below average- reminded me of school dinners in the 1960's too. It... More

We stayed here for two nights this summer and found our stay to be very comfortable. staff where friendly and were more than willing to help. The food was good, with plenty to choose from. After reading other reviews we where slightly worried but cant see what the problem is, the hotel also seems to have been recently decorated. The... More

The funky "locker room" smell in the corridors I could sort of put up with, but no Freeview TV is just unacceptable these days. It's hardly rocket science! The room was very basic, the food very basic. There's lots of other hotels on the Islands, only stay here as a last resort.

We had a two night stay here while on a coach tour of the Outer Hebrides. Our room on the ground floor was comfortable and clean with view over the garden to the road 100 metres away so was quiet. (Does it ever get noisy here?) The food was good. The nearby beach at the rear of the hotel a... More

this hotel was our base for a coach tour of the uists, barra and vatersay. expectations were'nt high, this is a tiny remote habitation on the edge of the world after all. some negative reviews didn't help but this was great. rooms were compact but cosy and slept like a log every night. never switched the tv. on and the... We stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour of the Outer Hebredies. We can't understand the negative reports made by other people. We all thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay, food and accomodation. This hotel is not a five star so what do people expect!!! We would certainly go back there. The surroundings were incredible and... More
