First off, this is an amazing unspoilt island. It really feels like you're seeing the real, authentic Thai way of life as you cycle/scooter around. The downside to this obviously is that there is very little to do, and very few restaurants, but this is a positive or a negative depending on what you want from a holiday. I loved... More

Our second time here! It felt like coming home, the staff met us with open arms. This is the place where you can read, sleep, morning cycling, walking on the beach and thru the forrest. Easy to find and reach different nice beaches - bicycle, scooter, hotelcar. The food is very good - hard to find better food on the... More

privacy and not too busy. we had the pool to ourselves for 5 out of the 7 days we stayed. Nice rooms and staff great. a few things would make it better- not complaints but hope the management might take the following on board: 1. Need mosquito nets and room spray 2. Replace decking around seaview pool- its danagerous 3.... More

Excellent location and fabulous spacious villas. The villas are located up steep hills surrounded by loads of lovely trees. You can get the hotel buggy if you can't manage the hills. Villas have massive terraces with a large sofa covered with mosquito nets plus comfortable large wooden chairs and footstools. Pop a couple cushions on and very comfy. Inside the... More

It is beautiful. All you do here is relax and that is what my husband and I needed. But what we found is that everything is so expensive here. And there is not much option for things to do unless you want to spend a lot of money. Housekeeping and the restaurant need a lot more training regarding service.we were... More

My wife and I have actually never had a vacation alone since 1988, so when she was given a week I January, we decided to try that out again. Thailand was high on the wish list, and Koh Yao Yai/Noi was recommended by one of our children. I booked both ticket and the 8 days at the Village through Thai... More

When my partner and I decided we were going to get married in Thailand and on an island I stumbled across Koh Yao Yai by chance. But I knew almost straight away it was perfect. I loved to look and layout of the village and the fact that its all individual villas. This meant that all the people in my... More

Koh Yao Yai Village sits somewhere removed...(much like any other island) but we discovered it through some issue on lonely planet i think. So off the coast of krabi / phuket, one gets here using a mix of road + longtail tranport. Once on the pier, we took a tempo-like vehicle to take to the KYYV, about 20 minutes ride.... More

I have been an ex-pat living in Asia for 14 years. I must say this was by far the most breath taking amazing view of a lifetime. It's the kind of view that makes you never want to leave. Our family stayed for 3 nights. The concrete villas were cozy, clean and had a cool open air shower. The villas... More

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Great view, the rooms are spacious, liked the atmosphere but could be cleaned better (that's for the ceiling and the mosquitonet outside) A good breakfast, good choice, lot's of fresh fruits. We went to the beach several times, not to swim, not possible. Beach area, sand was well taken care of by... More
