We stayed only one night in this resort because we left a previous hotel earlier than planned and were on our way to the next one. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The food was very good, the wine excellent. The big disadvantage is the road bar next door where truckers stop for the night, eat Sicilian fastfood, make... More

The hotel is an overpriced property selling itself as something it is not. It does not live up to its 4 star rating. Rooms have very light, safes in the rooms do not work, pool area does not offer any food facility at all, hotel operator is not available to receive incoming calls, limited internet is only available in one... The hotel is placed in a beautiful private bay, facing Falconara castle. Astonishing view and peaceful surroundings. Nevertheless hotel's direction is less than acceptable for a 4 star: - 40 minutes to be checked in - double bedroom with a camp bed sold for a triple bedroom - unfair mark up on restaurant prices - club med music pumped up... I stayed 8 days in august with my wife in this place (impossible to speak about "hotel"): you can not sleep before 2 PM : the music is so loud in the castle and in the close music hall you can hear it even if windows are closed. And during the week end you wake up at 8PM for very... More

Dear Guest, we are very sorry for your review but what you wrote doesn’t correspond to the reality of Falconara, so we have to contradict you. Our structure is known for the absolute tranquility and silence in the whole area, so no loud music from the castle, not even from the hotel hall. Furthermore, our team is qualified and able... More

My husband and I speak three languages. Unfortunately, Italian is not one of them. At this hotel, ordering a meal was always an ordeal. The staff mean well, but our impression is that they are scared to speak any language but Italian. If you trumpet your hotel as a 4 star resort, there should be more versatility. The location is... We stayed 4 days at Falconera and that was a good experience. We had chosen ½ pension and both breakfast and dinner was very good - there were ample choices and you could even choos outside the menu. The room was fine and the sorroundings were also very nice. The beach was very quiet and beatiful - it was 4... More

I have spent one week in May at the Falconara in a junior suite. It is located about 20 km from Gela and 120 km from Catana airport. It is a good base to visit the Piazza Armerina villa (recently reopened), Agrigente, Caltagirone and Ragusa. The hotel has a fine small beach, on two levels : the beach, and somewhat... More

The hotel is beautiful, with views of the dramatic ruined medival castle and of the charming beach. The surrouding gardens of the hotel and well laid out and very pretty. The pool is a good size and we were the only people ever in it. Thesmall private beach is lovely and we swam in the sea frequently during our stay.... More

My expectations were high and they have eventually been met and even exceeded. I spent unfortunately only one night, yet enough to fully appreciate the resort. It is perfectly nested close to a dramatic medieval castle along the sea. The structure dwells naturally in the landscape, while the personnel is there to satisfy all your needs and wishes (if not... Great spot with charming beach, warm hospitality, great food, pool and SPA. Morning and evening breeze make breakfast and aperitifs time a really relaxing ritual. Delightful and competent concierge with great restaurant and tour recommendations.

Falconara is situated on the south-eastern coast of Sicily, between Agrigento and Ragusa, in an enchanting position overlooking the sea. Its neighbour is the magical medieval castle of Falconara, erected in Norman times to repel the invasion of the Moors. The famous Valle dei Templi of Agrigento, the Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina with its splendid mosaics, Caltagirone with its craft made ceramics and the pearls of the Sicilian baroque: Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli are all within easy reach. ... more   less
