Everything I read is so true: very slow service, only one plug for electricity, basic accomodation, wasp nests in the bungalow, a pebble beach, very few fishes in the water due to bomb fishing practice (in the past...). And nothing much to do around this place... unless you are curious enough to hang around. And let me add that is... More

We stayed here for two nights in August and it was utterly delightful. We had a large bungalow right on the beachfront where we could sit and watch the most beautiful sunsets. It's very simple (no hot water or fan/aircon, manual flush toilet and friendly hermit crabs that share the bathroom at night) but it's pretty cheap and the simplicity... More

Traditional bungalows, built from bamboo, coconut, wood, with thatched grass roof, near the beach far from the road in a nice and peaceful setting. After 2 weeks travelling on ferries, and buses east of Flores, to arrive there was like arriving in paradise. It was just what we wanted: peace, quiet and smiling friendly people. It is like having your private... More

Overall, our boys (ages 6 and 8) found this hotel a bit basic and the cottages could do with a little TLC. There was one plug for the entire resort (no real problem given the paucity of guests at Sunset/ in Maumere) and limited electricity. The beach was also very rocky. All this being said, our family found this hotel... More

Sunset cottages are really nice backpackers basic bungalows or suitable for those willing to rough it a bit. There is electricity from ~ 6 till 9. The simple open air bamboo bungalows have western toilets, running water, bucket showers, and reasonably comfortable beds. Blankets are available upon request. The beds are covered with netting and such is important as the... More

We stayed here on a recent trip to Flores. This was definitely one of our favourite places along the way. Henry and his family run a very relaxed little joint on the ocean. Bungalows are basic but clean and comfortable, although it has to be said that a few of them could do with a little repair work. Local guide,... More

These are basic beach bungalows at a very reasonable price (90,000 - 150,000 Rp). Basic facilities - no hot water and just an outside mandi (with bucket of cold water to wash). A lot of mosquitos but the beds have good full mossie nets. A generator provides electricity for a couple of hours a night. Lovely beach location off the... More

Bamboo bungalow (100 000Rp to 125 000Rp) near the beach far from the road in a nice and peaceful setting. After 8 days travelling in Flores, to arrive there was like arriving in heaven. It was just what we wanted: peace, quiet and smiling people. The best bungalow is the one near the beach at the left corner. It is... More
