We had high expectations from reading the marketing on this hotel and so were disappointed when we found that it was reasonably tired with thin internal walls and the noise from fellow travelers / revelers didn't help with sleeping. The owners were good and helpful and it was easy to find.

hotel was easy to find at the very edge of town. Our room was very roomy and they gave us lots of pillows, so comfortable. The staff were very friendly. We had an evening snack and breakfast the next day in the hotel and it was very good. Lots of choices.

The hotel was located in an industrial/ shabbier part of Melide. It was a considerable walk to the center of town and the attractions. The rooms and bathrooms were small, but clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is definitely a one-night stay type of establishment. The decor was basic and older, but not run down.

This hotel is nice and modern, on the eastern edge of town. Some of the top floors facing the street have great little enclosed balconies with nice views. There are large tub/showers inside which are nice for a soak after a long day. Although I overheard one of the staff making a crude joke about gay people when he was... More

This hotel is run by a very friendly pair of brothers with the help of other family members. The room was comfortable, the restaurant food was excellent. Most of all, though the owners were friendly and helpful and really made us feel at home. Location was just slightly off the Camino de Santiago, and within easy walking distance of shopping... More

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel in small town Melide. Family-operated hotel, bar and restaurant offers clean, well appointed rooms, home cooked Galician meals, plentiful breakfast buffet and warm and friendly service at an affordable price point. Our host was fluent in English and offered many stories and local information. Appreciated the lift/elevator after walking the Camino all... More

We have stayed in a twin room in October. The room and bathroom was very spacious and freezing as there was no heating. But the team was extremely helpful and welcoming, speaking very good English. Our room looked to the main road and we could hear the cars passing by. Shops and restaurants maximum 10 - 15 minutes walk away... More

Victor, one of the proprietors of Carlos 96 is a wonderful host. So charming and attentive, with perfect British english. Loved the hotel. Food was marvelous. You must ask Victor to prepare a batch of the local hooch, Quiemada. Watch out for the flames.

The staff at hotel Carlos was great, very friendly. The restaurant was reasonably good. We found the location to be a little outside of the downtown area where more activity was happenng. Their breakfast was nice. They also seemed to cater to large travel groups.
