When we arrived at this hotel in early February, I felt totally under the weather, both literally and figuratively. We were walking the Camino, and the weather had been particularly cold and nasty that day. We had had a particularly bad experience the night before in Palas de Rei where the place where we were staying had no heat throughout... More

Great location right on the Comino Trail . Staff spoke excellent English and our room was nice with a balcony. Meals were out of this world . This family run hotel had home cooked meals that were large and really good. Many locals came in and filled the hotel restaurant with several people having to eat elsewhere.

Outstanding staff, very helpful, first class meal from the restaurant A La Carte menu. Modern and much better than its modest single star rating. Very comfortable and quiet away from road. Handy to centre of town and about 150 metres off the Camino. Excellent value for money.

A simple, but nice hotel in the way to Santiago de Compostela. Clean, cheap, with very nice staff. Bike friendly. Last stop for bikers who are going to Santiago and one stop ahead for the walkers. Good restaurant. Very good stop for Bicigrinos and peregrinos.

After a long day on the Camino, we were absolutely delighted when we were checked into the hotel by a Spanish gentleman speaking the Queen's English. The owners and two sons really know how to make a visitor feel welcome. We had a late lunch there and then loved it so much we had dinner and breakfast there as well.... More

Average room while walking the Camino no ventilation or AC and I happened to get the room that faced the main street in Melide with a balcony HOWEVER as nice as it may seem you must keep windows open to get any ventilation and it was very noisy. I can't review dinner as I did not eat that night due... More

We spent the night here as part of our Camino walk. Compared to previous stays this place is a stand out. Service is excellent, way above the rest of Galacia. Then have bent over backwards to help us in every way. Fascilitated out of hours breakfast, catered for my gluten free status, printing our boarding passes for our next flight,... More

Day 3 of our Camino walk and we arrive at Hotel Carlos 96, I have to say I wasn't expecting much as it was listed as a one star property. We were more than pleasantly surprised and the service was second to none. The owners son spoke English so we didn't have to worry about using our completely useless Spanish!!... More

This was a great find on Day 3 of our Camino journey. I was greeted by Luis on arrival and managed to speak to him in my poor Spanish. I quickly realised he had fluent English which helped. I originally arranged a triple room for this stage of the Camino. I was delighted with the very spacious room which was... More

I gave up trying to book hotels much in advance while doing the camino walk because never knew how many miles we could walk in a particular day. No problem getting rooms at hotel Carlos. The father and mother run the kitchen and son the reception and bar. They have lived in England so no problem w communication. Set meal... More
