While the luxurious surroundings were a delight and an unexpected respite from recent days, it was the genuine welcome from our host and all his staff which was so reaffirming A great place to rest on the journey. The staff made a huge sandwich for me next morning before the long walk to Ages

Perfect place to stay after a long day of walking. Best bed on the Camino! Very helpful staff , loved the lady that made us eat a perfect breakfast before we headed out again! Can't wait to stop there again next year.

Gracious generosity and history permeate this welcome resting place on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Nestled on a quiet hillside, in a small country village, the Hotel San Anton Abad provides a comforting welcome, sustaining a tradition that dates to the 14th century when the building that houses the hotel was built as a resting place for the poor... We had a much-needed respite at this very lovely hotel during our walk on the Camino de Santiago. I would highly recommend a stay at either the hotel or the collocated albergue. This family-owned and run hotel gives visitors a very warm welcome and wonderful service.

We stayed 1 evening while walking the Camino. After reading such good reviews, I was somewhat disappointed with the place. The purple room decor left something to be desired. I kept on expecting to see the old LA Kings hockey jerseys who used to have same color jerseys as the room decor. The food in the restaurant was very good.... More

We were walking the camino. We stayed in both hotels and albergues on our walk. San Anton Abad was clearly the best hotel on the camino (better than hotel perla in Pamplona or the Parador). San Anton Abad was friendly, excellent food, interesting furniture. Interesting ruins nearby Monasterio de San Felix de Oca. Also do not miss San Juan de... More

This grand hotel in the traditional Spanish style, is run by a family and you feel like a guest in their luxurious mansion. The elder gentleman running the hotel was charming, and insisted on escorting us to our room. There is an albergue attached to the back. Even the staff in the restaurant were all accommodating and gracious, specially one... More

What a delightful surprise whilst walking Camino. We stayed in the actual Hotel (albergue attached if you would prefer the cheaper option). Owned and run by a charming family who went out of their way to welcome my son and I to their outstanding Hotel. We were accompanied to our room, and waved goodbye as we set off following morning.... The hotel also doubles as an albergue for those Camino walkers who prefer the more challenging pleasures of shared accommodation. All I can speak for is the more luxurious side of the establishment sleeping wise since communal sleeping at the end of a day's walking is not for me. The welcome we had here was excellent. The building has great... More
