We travelled by car and ferry Portsmouth- Caen. The hotel is about 40 minutes from the port of Ouistreham. It is not well signposted so head for the road for the American cemetery. We were given a large newly furnished bedroom, en suite, desk area downstairs room in an area of mini flats. The breakfast was buffet with a boil... More

This was a great find right in the middle of the American Sector. Cemetery is a short walk, new Overlord Museum across the street, evening dining options within 5 minute drive (breakfast is at hotel, lunch on own). Very quiet and nicely appointed place to stay.

Advertised as a "quick lunch" we popped in after visiting the American Cemetary. We waited an age for a table and then what seemed like an eternity for our food. Service whilst friendly enough, was painfully slow. Food was very poor too. Give it a miss

We stayed here for lunch only....thank goodness. We were on a two week tour through Europe - we travelled through 4 countries and 4,400 km and it was the worst meal we had tasted. We both had Croque Monsieur, which you would think was pretty easy to cook. The cheese was not melted and the ham was cold, followed by... More

Really nice hotel with lovely gardens. Wheelchair accessible and parking is close. Great base for touring the area as it's just down the road from the American Cemetary, and the new Omaha beach museum will be open soon just across the road. Easy access, great room and wonderful and accommodating staff!

I was visiting Normandy and touring the beaches of Normandy for the first time. This was quite a special trip as I always wanted to visit and I had the added pleasure of the company of an old friend from the USA. We worked our way along the Normandy beaches and he really wanted to see the American Cemetery at... More

We didn't stay at this Hotel but stopped there for a light lunch after visiting Omaha Beach and the War Graves. It was quite late for lunch and the restaurant was empty and appeared to have finished serving but we were warmly welcomed by a charming French waitress who told us we could have lunch .. The food was excellent,... More

My wife and I stayed a single evening in April 2012, apparently early in the season. We were without a car, so for the American Cemetery and Omaha Beach this was really the only option. The room was large and clean but cold. As with most places we stayed in Europe, while the room radiators are under your control, they... More

We made reservations here a long time before our trip, based solely on its proximity to the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. After reading some reviews, I thought I had made a mistake. I was wrong. This hotel is not only very close to many WWII historical places, the staff is excellent. After a long trip from Paris that, due... More

Visited the American Cemetery, had lunch here (which incidently they don't understand what a vegetarian is) out of desperation. Very overpriced for what it was, chilli con carne (hubby) was most agreeable, mine, bruschetta with cheese and toppings, arrived with meat on it. Had asked for no meat or fish. Language barrier IS a problem, they don't seem to understand... More
