Pleasant nights stay. Quiet location, near the river, ideal for someone who wants to chill. Large comfortable rooms although the bath was a little small. Restaurant was closed on a Monday evening but reception suggested restaurants in Bordeaux and bookd a reservation.

The chateau was very charming and the room was extremely spacious and comfortable. It's probably best to have dinner in town before returning to the hotel to relax as the room service menu is really quite limited (made to order and some items are pre prepared) and it's pricey for what is available, since the hotel doesn't have a restaurant.... We had a wonderful stay, 45 minutes to the middle of vinyards to the north west and 45 minutes to St Emillion to the east. Not a lot of restaurants in the village but there is room service (although we preferred to look for cafe's). Bordeau has tons!.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights while looking for homes to purchase within 30 minutes of Bordeaux. Exhausted each evening, Chateau Grattequina was an oasis of calm elegance on our return. With a view on the river from one large window and the pool from the second, it was another world. Set back from all other buildings, traffic... More

What a nice surprise this hotel was. Was a bit apprehensive because of some mix reviews, but once we arrive it was more than what we expected. The property is beautiful. It is located exactly between the vineyards route and the city of Bordeaux. My husband and I choose this place because it was near the vineyards route we wanted... More

My wife and I had a most wonderful two days in September at this "marvellous" chateau. Everything we experienced was of the highest quality and would definitely recommend as place worth staying if you seeking to spoil yourselves. Room 8 is well worth paying for !!!!!

On a recent trip to France, with my lady, we stayed at the Grattquina for a couple of days, the Chateau is situated on the banks of the Gironde, both the hotel and the staff were very welcoming in evert respect. The room was lovely and because it has no restaurant, and I didn't want to drive into Bordeaux they... More

My family and I stayed here over the summer in what was a trip of a lifetime for my Mom's 90th Birthday. It was like driving up to a dream. If you think about France you picture Chateau Grattaquina and then to see it, is phenomenal. The grounds are simply exquisite. We rested so comfortably as the rooms are beautifully... More

I stayed here looking for a great French experience but oh what a disappointment. I have read other reviews of 12 months ago. No luggage stands. No phone directory, ordinary breakfast, no staff, no lounge, overpriced, no corkscrew in the room. Well 12 months on, absolutely nothing has changed !!!! I also brought these thing to the managers attention but... More

My husband and I recently stayed here with our 10 month old daughter. The chateau is like something out of a fairy tale. It is absolutely beautiful. We were tired from travel when arriving so stayed in the chateau on our first day. The staff prepared a beautiful picnic by the river for us and it was the perfect way... More
