We just spent 3 nights at Chateau Grattequina. What a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful and set right on the river. The staff was amazing and all spoke excellent English, a bonus for me although I do speak French and live in France. Our first night we arrived quite late and were warmly greeted and offered dinner and wine,... more
I have just returned from a three day stay and would echo other views on this site it is a magnificent buildings, rooms are excellent and the staff were lovely. But they just haven't got the concept right. This hotel is much more suited to conferences and weddings. We like to relax in a hotel at the end of the... more
A wonderful hotel - outside, a 19th century chateau on the banks of the river; inside, large airy rooms, modern conveniences - and a very warm welcome. We would recommend it to everyone. If you want somewhere to get away and relax this is it...but you're only a few miles outside Bordeaux...and very handy for the airport too. more
I stayed at this property on the third week of a European Business trip and after a long week at the Paris Air Show. I had a second floor room with a balcony that overlooked the river. The room was large, very clean, and the balcony was a home run. The location is out of town on a farm and... more
As a special treat I decided to bring my wife to Bordeaux and stay in four star accomodation. The Image of Chateaux Grattequina was wonderful, both in the photographs and upon arrival. We are no strangers to large pretentious buildings, having worked myself in four and five star hotels in Ireland for the last twenty five years, my wife is supervisor... more
the hotel is new and more for receptions than for vacationers. it only has 10 rooms and feels deserted. also it is the middle of corn fields . was ok but for the price would not go back. more

It has been fully renovated with all the comfort of a modern four-star hotel while retaining its original charm and atmosphere. It is well located to explore the Bordeaux wine region. The friendly owners are... more
My husband and I just returned from a 3 week vacation in France. We stayed four nights at the Chateau Grattequira at the end of May 08. It was a great experience. The hotel staff was very helpful in suggesting points to see and arranging wine tours. The Chateau is a bit out of the way. It is about 15... more
