I booked several rooms for our hockey team when we came to Mackenzie's hockey tournament. I booked all non smoking rooms. Upon check in we noticed the lobby wreaked of smoke. We were given a room on the main floor. As we went to our room we noticed our throats burning from the strong cigarette smoke smell. Our non smoking... More

Stayed here twice in the last 2 months, the first time the room was very run down, with stains on the carpets and furniture and a broken chair. The towels were mismatched colors (faded) and somewhat threadbare. There wasn't even an real desk, just a small table that barely fit my laptop on it. The second time, the room was... More

If all you're looking for is an average place to crash for the night, then this place will not dissappoint. Friendly, flexible staff. Clean, basic rooms. All-round average for a motel. Not suitable for folk who can't take stairs as there's no elevator. Sometimes the smell from the smoking rooms gats around so you can smell it elswhere. A handy... More

Complained AC wasn't working. Front desk informed me they were taking them out rather than repairing or replacing them. The rooms are upstairs over office space and extremly hot. Windows don't improve air circulation, fan just blows the hot air around. Terrible place to stay during the summer. Great lake in community for kayaking but I would not return if... More

I stayed here for a week while working -- it's okay, not brilliant but I've stayed in worse. The place is old (and kinda reminds me of 1950's gangster movies) but clean and everything works. Bed was comfortable. Could really use air conditioning -- the corridor has airconditioning but the rooms do not. Leaving the door open cooled the place... More

The hotel is older, but the rooms were clean and spacious. We opted for the kitchenette, with two double beds in a separate bedroom. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials for meal preparation. Living room had a couch and two chairs, to relax in while watching satellite TV. There was no electrical outlet in the washroom for my electric... More

Not surprise – hotel is somewhat dated – more importantly it is kept clean and decent. What lack in modern convenience is made up for with the warm and accommodating staff. Was given a room on the first – didn’t like to look into the parking lot. Immediately given another room on a higher without hesitation. As for being ne... More

I came with some colleagues for work for a few days. We need Internet service to do our job, but the Internet was not working properly. I complained to the Reception three times during two different days but they never fixed it. It seems that nobody cares here about giving a good service. I don't recommend it, unless you don't... Don't expect a Super 8 or a Holiday Inn, there are no complimentry breakfasts or 42 inch TVs, this motel is fairly old and some what dated. You can hear it creak and groan but what ever brought you to Mackenzie your not here to hang in a room. The staff are great and generally the hotel is quiet though... More

The good: Clean enough, spacious, some updates, conventient location. The bad: Lumpy pillows, general lack of decor, noisy, full of contractors. I stayed here by myself for work. The hotel was full of other contractors. At dawn, the noise began: showers, flushing toilets, creaking floors, banging cupboards, idling diesel trucks. It was fine for work purposes, as I too was...
