From the outside, definite 1970's motif. Interior corridors and lobby definitely needs to be brought into the 21 century. The rooms are clean with a dated decor. Overall, clean, quiet and close to the amenities.

Checked into this hotel while travelling. This hotel is very confusing the rooms are hard to find up one set of stairs then down.(no elevator) The room was very warm, but average. There was only two pillows, I ended up folding the cover up to make a pillow. There is not hairdryer, which is not good if cold outside. The... More

Well were to start. Walked into lobby and was consumed by the overwhelming stench of marijuana. Front desk girl claimed she must just be used to it because she couldn't smell it .... If not pot. Then it also stunk of cigarettes, and old dinginess. Place is extremely outdated, hallways are noisy and floorboards are shifting and loose. Stained carpets,... More

This hotel is HUGE. Mackenzie is a small town that is on a road to nowhere off the 97. The room was large and comfortable. The only complaint I would have is that the room was very warm so we opened the window that didn't help much though. The attached mall has a supermarket, restaurants and hairdresser etc. Asked for... Stayed here for a couple of weeks. This property is/has 2 hotels run thru the main desk. The "Alexander Mackenzie" and the "Timberman". I stayed in the Timberman. It is across the road. Rooms are clean, pretty quiet and worked very well. We were working in town. Room had a small kitchen net but no oven. Hot water could take... More

I booked several rooms for our hockey team when we came to Mackenzie's hockey tournament. I booked all non smoking rooms. Upon check in we noticed the lobby wreaked of smoke. We were given a room on the main floor. As we went to our room we noticed our throats burning from the strong cigarette smoke smell. Our non smoking... More

Stayed here twice in the last 2 months, the first time the room was very run down, with stains on the carpets and furniture and a broken chair. The towels were mismatched colors (faded) and somewhat threadbare. There wasn't even an real desk, just a small table that barely fit my laptop on it. The second time, the room was... More

If all you're looking for is an average place to crash for the night, then this place will not dissappoint. Friendly, flexible staff. Clean, basic rooms. All-round average for a motel. Not suitable for folk who can't take stairs as there's no elevator. Sometimes the smell from the smoking rooms gats around so you can smell it elswhere. A handy... More

Complained AC wasn't working. Front desk informed me they were taking them out rather than repairing or replacing them. The rooms are upstairs over office space and extremly hot. Windows don't improve air circulation, fan just blows the hot air around. Terrible place to stay during the summer. Great lake in community for kayaking but I would not return if... More

I stayed here for a week while working -- it's okay, not brilliant but I've stayed in worse. The place is old (and kinda reminds me of 1950's gangster movies) but clean and everything works. Bed was comfortable. Could really use air conditioning -- the corridor has airconditioning but the rooms do not. Leaving the door open cooled the place... More
