The hotel is at the edge of the village with sweeping views over fields and meadows. A good stop-over when you are on your way to the South of France. It ought to be classified as a restaurant with rooms: the cuisine is absolutely outstanding, and for a Michelin star, it is certainly not overpriced. Rooms are of different quality,... More

This charming hostellerie, situated in the centre of the very pretty village of Colombey les deux Eglise, was a wonderful surprise. We had opted to stay here because of it's Michelin starred restaurant and were delighted to find the accommodation was equally good. Eclectic rustic French decor and furnishings, but all mod cons. Dinner was everything we had hoped for... More

I choose this hostellerie for our stop over on way to Alps, primarily because it was Michelin starred and we love our food. It was perfectly located, lovely room but sadly let down by the mediocre food. Our overnight stop cost 350euro for 2 eating from the set menu with one bottle of wine and 2 glasses of house champagne.... More

Set in the most beautiful countryside, this hotel offers a great welcome and a Michelin quality restaurant restaurant at reasonable prices. A great stopping point when travelling to or from England to the centre or south of France. Large spacious rooms although we could have done with a bit of heating still it was the middle of August! Well worth... More

This shabby chic country hotel in a wonderful location lacked the personal touch. The bedroom in the annexe was quiet and had a great view over fields but the heavy cotton sheets were still damp which made for a less than pleasant sleep. The restaurant was expensive and there was limited or no choice on the two set menus, which... More

This is a pleasant place to stay in the country-side; for us it was a one-night stay on our way from north to south in France. The room was excellent - large and well-appointed. The dining room, while well-rated in the guides, was very pretentious for the country. More relaxed service would be more fitting. Still, this is good place... More

We once stayed in the Auberge du Montagne, the owners old hotel and restaurant 19 years ago. This a stunning place to stay high in the village with great views and beautifully decorated. The son who is the chef cooks extremely well at an incredibly decent price. Rooms are very nice too.

We stopped off en route to the north as the hotel is conveniently placed approx half way. Loved the village (the home of Charles De Gualle) and the hotel. The rooms are so typically French. Slightly shabby but very chic! We ate in the Michelin star restuarant in the evening. The food and wine list were perfect. As was the... More

This was our last night of touring Europe before returning to England. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and seemed like an old manor house that had been converted. Our room was in an outbuilding which probably had been servants quarters before been converted. The room was clean, very spacious and tastefully restored. The bathroom was very large with... More

A lovely setting, charming rooms and a superb restaurant, a very worthwhile stop for those driving from the channel ports to the South, or back again.
