A most wonderful stay. Clean rooms, lots of privacy, quaint town, great food, great view. Was close to everything we need to go and see. Hostess was wonderful and full of information. Friendly town, lots of history. more

We have just returned from a nine night staty at Haus Sterr, we couldn't fault the accommodation, village or surrounding area. We wanted snow and we got it, every day! So beautiful. This place really is a hidden gem. We like walking and found plenty of circular walks well signposted from the doorstep. We travelled by train from London easily,... more

We are always delighted to get such enthusiastic reviews and to know that our guests enjoyed their stay. Since these guests booked their 2 bedroom apartment, we have added four 1 bedroom apartments specifically for couples and these are, of course, cheaper than the 2 bedroom apartment.

A great deal of thought and care has gone into creating an excellent holiday base at Haus Sterr. The accommodation is modern and clean throughout with dishwasher, washing machine and leisure facilities avaialble. The owners' attention to guests' needs is great - with DVDs to borrow and a small shop. They have carefully compiled a file of really helpful information... more

Website easy to navigate, booking process straight forward, after which we received confirmation e-mail with directions to the apartment and good clear information about what to expect in the apartment upon arrival. Great to have enough of the essentials to get you through your first breakfast, even English tea bags! There is a store room in the cellar with food... more

We (English/ Japanese couple early 30s) can honestly say that we could not find fault at all with any aspect of our stay. The accommodation was spacious, well appointed and spotless and a great deal of care and attention has obviously gone in to every detail. We particularly appreciated the lovely down duvet and the jam provided for our breakfasts!... more

The apartment we stayed in was extremely clean, well equipped and the welcome was so friendly. Margaret and Martin seemed to have thought of everything. There were lots of things for our teenagers to do including table tennis and pool. The area is ideal for forest walks as there are plenty of paths that run right next to the house.... more

Stayed here for a week in Aug 08. Sold as 5* accomodation. The positives are that the location is excellent particularly if you enjoy walking/mountain biking etc & the local restaurants are excellent. There is plenty to do in nearby villages/towns as Eisenstein is rather sleepy. The accomodation is spotless & information provided first class. However as a 5* I... more

Some of the bedrooms are indeed small, as a result of fitting in the ensuite bathrooms. All of our many guests so far accept this compromise as they prefer the extra bathrooms. The beds in the smaller bedrooms are standard douibles from the UK. As for stripping the beds and taking the linens to the laundry room, this is a...

We are UK family of 4 inc. 2 teenage boys. We were looking for an active holiday mixing hiking, sightseeing and mountain-biking. We were not disappointed. We have so much positive to say about this place, but in summary: + House was clean, comfortable and well equipped. With teenagers we particularly liked the LCD TV, DVD player and English-language DVD... more

We spent 2 weeks here as our main summer holiday, and it was all we'd hoped. The appartments are comfortable, beautifully decorated and maintained, and are stocked with everything we needed, and we could buy small food items and use the laundry when needed, so it was very convenient. This was really important, as we had not brought the car,... more
