I looked at this hotel on TripAdvisor after my stay and was wondering how anyone could give this a less than 5* Excellent. This is one great hotel, and very reasonably priced. We booked a room on the top floor. Very spacious, loads of character. Whisper quiet. I can see that wheelchair access might be a problem, as on reviewer... More

We have just returned from our holidays which included one night in this hotel on 31st of August. On the positive side, we really enjoyed your location and also the food was terrific. However an issue I wish to point out is that the room that they provided as being wheelchair accessible is far too small to be considered as... More

My husband and I stayed here at the end of our month long vacation and could not have been happier with our choice. An impeccable hotel and restaurant. We were planning on staying only one night.... But this intriguing part of the world and divine hotel and restaurant wooed us into an additional two nights. We look forward to returning... More

An overnight stop on our way down to Portugal. What a good choice! The welcome was very warm and we had a beer in the garden whilst admiring the views to the foothills of the Pyrenees. The room was beautiful and the shower exhilarating. Dinner, in the beautiful restaurant, was one of those great dining experiences that come along not... More

Hotel is located about 15mins drive from St Jean de Luz and 25mins drive from Biarritz; close to all the beaches and coastal towns yet very quiet and calm. The view from the backyard is fantastic; you see rolling valleys dotted with basque houses with the Pyrenees as a backdrop. You can lay down and watch the day (and sometime... More

So that's France for another six months, and this wonderfully converted auberge, the choice for our final night, could surely not have been bettered. Yes, some rooms are considerably more expensive than those of many similarly sized venues, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the more competitively priced garden room that we stayed in, inspite of its proximity to... Stayed just one night on the way to Spain. A small hotel in a very pretty location with an excellent restaurant which is a must if you decide to stay. The multilingual staff go to great lengths to make you feel welcome. There is even a welcome drink - home made lemonade and local macarons. We had a standard double... More

Had a great two nights stay at the Auberge on our Pays Basque vacation. We stayed in one of the family rooms, an absolutely massive room with two separate bedrooms/showers. Food was great, service fantastic too. The nearby lake, Lac Saint-Pee-sur-Nivelle is a great family destination during the summer months.
