Head through the wooded hills and spectacular valleys of the Borgo Pass and you'll arrive at the Castle Dracula Hotel. On first impression it appears more of a modern mansion than an old-style castle, but is in fact more like the sort of Dracula castle you'd expect to see designed by a Las Vegas architect. You can watch a beautiful... More

I stayed at Dracula Castle in 2014, when I was on my way between two conferences. First of all, the rooms are a little bit small but very cosy. It is a very warm hotel inside. The accomodation is very good, the food in restautant is traditional. At dinner we eat grilled fish (trout), polenta, garlic sauce. As dessert we... More

We stayed here as part of an outstanding tour conducted by Transylvania Live. I had read about this hotel years ago. During the Communist times in the 1980s it was built on the Borgo Pass where they estimated that Dracula's Castle would have been built if Bram Stoker's novel was true. However, historians and geographers reckon it is more likely... More

Visited during a 7 day trip with foreign tourists. The landscape is outstanding, but I consider the hotel is a kitsch. Despite the accommodation is comfortable, I don't find this hotel a good idea for the idyllic place.

The second stay after 2 years revealed conditions that have worsened. Thee is heavy smoking in the hotel, including hotel personnel, heavy use of the reception floor restrooms with no proper cleaning ( a mix of toilet and cleaning agent smell), old fashion broom-and-dust pan cleaning manner, breakfast buffet is mobbed during the summer weekends when the personnel cannot keep... Seems a family hotel with friendly people. For healthy people because of a lot of stairs and no elevator for the luggage. Dark entrence like one expect from a dracula castle. Near the hotel are some real local old graves on a little cemetary. Good food and drinks and "bloody" desert. For a little additional price one can experience an... More

I visited this hotel with my son as part of a Vlad Tepes tour. This was one of the few places (believe it or not) on the tour where some effort had been made to recreate the surroundings of Bram Stokers Dracula. Set in beautiful forestry with a large cross (lit at night) and monastery on the opposite hill, it... More

The rooms are OK, the location on the Tahuta pass is great, but to climb 2- steps of the stairs (at least) with the luggage to join the reception plus (for me (18) to join my room, only one solution, let your luggage at the entrance, and after the check-in, ask for someone to bring the luggage in your room....
