The church always understood about location and great buildings and this old monastery is worth the drive for lunch or dinner or better still stay the night. We came here for lunch on the 3rd November 2014 with two friends to celebrate her birthday. The excellent set lunch menus are priced at €33 €65 €85.....only go for the €85 if... More

This quite an isolated site, but very nice especially in the summer, very pleasant gardens with a pool, nice to relax in. The large bedeoom was comfortable, the bathroom could have been better appointed, no separate shower, and no screen on the bath, the shower hose was only really to rinse hair, not to shower with. There ws noq soap... More

We have been coming to this hotel for thirty years and have seen it change from being a delightful country hotel to a rather formal sophisticated hotel. The girls on Reception were efficient but unsmiling; the bedrooms are fabulous; the meal ( overseen by an officious maître d, ) was presented in a formal manner..there was no fun involved, although... I'm very shocked that this is a 3 star hotel cause I've been to plenty of 4 star hotels worse than this. Of course the hotel isn't perfect and I only stayed there for one night but there were no problems, breakfast was good and the room was very cool.

Despite being very close to the motorway and an industrial zone, the hotel is tucked into a nice private garden with nice surroundings. The junior suite was recently renovated and quite nice. However it was rather noisy as just above the restaurant which you also needed to cross in the evening to get back to the room. Whilst they try... More

After reading the negative comments posted recently, I wondered whether they referred to the same place, as our personal experience was quite different: friendly staff, gourmet dinner (Menu du Colombier 53 Euro) indicating that a creative Chef is at work in the kitchen, quiet night, again a friendly welcome at breakfast. It is true that the place is rather on... More

The Maître d/Sommelier: quite possibly the rudest individual we have ever encountered. Disdainful about our choice of wine and reluctantly delivered our choice to the table and remarked he hoped it was only our aperitif. Actually argued when I complained about my veal being raw, exclaiming that it was pink - perhaps he needs to understand the difference between pink... More

We have eaten in this restaurant from time to time - in the past we always found it expensive, but a pleasant overall experience. However the last time we found a completely different attitude - the staff had changed and instead of being charming and helpful we were met with total indifference and arrogance. Now it is just expensive. At... More

We travelled through france on our honeymoon, starting in paris, then to Domaine du Colombier for 3 nights, before moving down to the south coast. This was a fabulous find! The hotel was recommended in the Sunday Times at the time when we were looking at honeymoon options - what good timing. We found it a little difficult to find... More

Very disappointing stay for one night. The price of a superior room meant we opted for a standard room this time which although small was beautifully decorated. BUT the bathroom was just awful with everything either broken or missing. The shower was immaculate except there were over 100 (yes, I'm sorry but I was so appalled that I actually counted... More
