We stayed at St Jacques for 2 nights ,the room was a superior one lovely and big with a seating area ,very clean. The restaurant served up top class Michelin star food it was exquisite , and so worth the money. What we really liked was the fact that you never felt out of place no snobbery, and when you try to speak... If this seems to be contradicted by other glowing reviews, it's because when you've tasted perfection, quite good pales. I stayed at St Jacques with a friend ten years ago and we were gobsmacked. It was one of my 5 best hotels of all time (Yorkshire Dales, Cornwall, mid France, northern Spain and southern Spain since you ask). Pool and... More

Quirky but charming decor. Lovely gardens with a well shaded terrace for eating. We live about 40 minutes away and this was our first time here. We had the €55 tasting menu which happens once a month, and got 7 courses plus several amuse bouche as well as a glass of champagne and two glasses of red each ( well,not... More

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was a terrible experience from start to finish. The room was dirty, the toilet seat was hanging on by a thread, the inside door handle fell off, the air conditioning units throughout the hotel made a horrible noise through out the night which made it difficult/impossible to... We had booked two rooms in the same family name at the Hostellerie St Jacques, which is always a compulsory stop on our journey to and from the south-west, but there was a mix up with only one room actually booked. They blamed Logis - but I don't know - and anyway immediately personally took us to Le Sully down... More

I wrote about this lovely hotel last June and how it would make a great weekend venue for a getaway and my other half, Basil, was listening intently as we have done just that. Out on a Friday from Stansted by Ryanair to Limoges, pick up a car no more than a 100 metres from where you get off the... More

We always try to stop here en-route to south west France - as it is always first class. Yes, the rooms are all a bit whacky and very French! But they are spotless and comfortable, and many are very large. The restaurant is certainly one of the best we have ever found in France, making it an essentail stopover. The... More

I was travelling to Saint-Saud to attend a friend's wedding in the area so booked into to stay at this nearby hotel for 2 nights. I absolutely loved it, the design of the whole hotel is so quirky, lots of colour. The garden was gorgeous, we were blessed with brilliant weather so we had our meals in the garden. Food... More

We stayed three days at this rather fantastic hotel recently. Although the room was a little over the top (all the rooms are different), it was charming and comfortable. The bed was huge. The view from the windows was stunning, and cleverly not over looked by even the hotel garden. What was a total surprise to find was the quality... More

This restaurant is well worth the detour as the food is stunning. We were a party of four and decided to all have the 5 course tapas menu at EUR 50. We realised afterwards they cannot count as we reckon it was at least 7 courses and that then starts a debate about whether the amuse bouche is a course... More
