5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

These 2 hosts, John and Jane are a nice team! We stayed here for 2 restful nites while we drove around the Pyrnees...my only regret is not staying longer. John is a great cook and there is no need to look for a better place to eat. He accommodated our dietary requests, making fish and vegetarian instead of meat dishes.... More

John and Jane run a wonderful B+B in St. Savin. Its located just above an old Abbey, a very picturesque place especially when lit up at night, as it regularly is. Well signed directions make it easy to find. Each room, is comfortable, with a large window that offers wonderful views of the Valle de Gaves! There is a lovely... More

Six nights of warm comfortable accommodation in the early spring. With great host, and what felt like an open home atmosphere in a very nicely appointed facility. Great selection of reading material for those odd rainy days. The room, bed and bathroom were very comfortable. Whilst the menus are limited, we can recommend John's beef bourgigon it was superb. John and Jane, the owners, chefs, barkeeps, etc. could not have possibly been more hospitable. The room was very nice, and the food morning and night was truly a treat. We have never in the past eaten all of our meals in any hotel. But, after one dinner, we were hooked! In addition, they helpled us plan cycling trips, and... More

Five nights at Les Rochers was the highlight of my two week trip to France & Spain. Owners John & Jane have carved out a lovely piece of paradise in Saint Savin and serve it up to their guests in a thoughtfully planned and wholly welcoming package: comfortable, clean, sunlit rooms, garden patio, sitting room with an extensive library, sumptuous... Lovely spot, charming town, excellent views, quaint well maintained older style hotel. Rooms are on the small side but spotlessly clean and the bathroom seemed to have had a recent modern makeover....great shower! Having said all that, it is not a five star rated hotel as many reviewers have said....it is a perfectly acceptable, excellent value three and a half... More

I stayed in Les Rochers for four nights in early Sep and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. The owners John and Jane were friendly and welcoming and lots of fun (ask to see their Lizzie Derriey artwork collection - even a philistine like me was impressed!), the food was excellent and so was the wine. I found my... More

Run by a British couple who have true passion about running a small hotel and preparing and serving meals. There attention to detail and level of service is rarely to be found elsewhere in France. The hotel is extremely comfy and most homey. The food is all freshly prepared with creative flair and beaucoup de gout. The surrounding village is... More

This hotel committed the worst of all hospitality sins- a double booking. We did our research from New Zealand, searched reviews, booked well in advance and received written confirmation for what we believed would be the perfect stopover on our journey from France into Spain with our children and grandchildren, giving us a taste of a small alpine village instead of staying... I ended the French leg of a cycling trip with three nights here. My room had the essentials - a comfortable bed, a good shower, a kettle and just enough space. It also had a great view - Hautacam can be seen across the valley from the hotel. For cycling, it couldn't be better situated. I hadn't planned on staying... More
