This place is extraordinary. I hate that 'stepping into the past' expression. But you really get to here. Twice. 1960's fittings in the bedrooms, maybe 1890's downstairs. It's like being in a 1970's film about French provincial life. That weird French formality, but the really nice version of it. You can stay here for less than an Ibis and you... More

We got a late start after dining in Meze on the southern coast and we needed a place to sleep. After two hang-ups/no answers in Lodeve, the gentleman at La Croix Blanche answered at 10:30 pm. We stayed overnight in Lodève while walking the Chemin d'Arles. We were tired when we arrived and were looking for something comfortable. The Croix Blanche was an ideal place to stay. We stayed here because the hotel we wanted to stay at was closed. It is a motel really, the room had very dated decor and was a bit smelly as though it was a previous smoking/pet room but it was clean and overlooked the pretty courtyard and parking area.
