Looks like we were on the same trip as smilerh. We agree with all smilerh says, the rooms and food were excellent, especially the breakfast which had such a vast choice, eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, fruit and much more. The wine and drinks were rather expensive but as dinner and breakfast were included in the price of... More

My wife and myself booked to travel to France by coach on a two day trip to Boulogne,St Omer and Lille, spending the night in the Chateau Tilques,3miles from St Omer. This is a beautiful looking building set in superb grounds with some brilliant bronze characters set around the gardens. On entering the hotel it was really quite stunning inside. The reception was very... Another stay in this imposing building. Superb dinner with great service. Also a good Barman. Swimming pool closed temporarily but is being worked on. Some difficulties in booking for the first time. Phone not always manned, and when manned not necessarily by someone speaking English. My greatest concern is the bedrooms. A gown and slippers do not of themselves turn... More

My husband and I visited this hotel for a short weekend. It is in an interesting area historically and near to the nice town of St Omer and the even more beautiful town of Arras. The hotel is comfortable with a good atmosphere, though our room was a little small. The restaurant was very good both for dinner and breakfast.... More

The location is good for Calais or Dunkirk. Reception was friendly and efficient, room clean with nice view and good bathroom. Note that there is no lift in the main building and steep stairs if you are on the second floor. The pool was out of action during our stay but would be a welcome addition. There are nice grounds,... Very welcoming and great rooms ( we were in a block outside the main hotel where the rooms are bigger). The beautiful restaurant promises an experience that fell somewhat short of expectations.. food nothing to write home about. We'd signed up for the dinner bed and breakfast package and the choices for the dinner that comes with the package were... More

We are just back with a large group visiting the area for 100 aniversary of ww1. We had two nights in the hotel. Our room was in the main building. It was small but very clean and the bathroom was nice. However even though the listed room price was 185 euros we did not get a kettle. However, those in... More

This was our 2nd stay at the Chateau Tilques. It is in a good location for those needing to stay near Calais but who prefer to be in a rural location. They accept dogs and the grounds are perfect for dog walking. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. We had a family room in the building next... More

This was one of a number of hotels we stayed at on a tour of France. The chateau is a lovely old building. Grounds are nice too. Food is lovely. We had a deal off internet that included 39 menu and breakfast. Value for money. Excellent!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for one night as a stopover on a drive to Spa Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix. We are both in our late 20's and we were looking for a traditional chateau, with a bit of luxury and masses of personality. We whittled it down to a few and chose this one -... More
