We recently stayed at Chateau Tilques over the May Bank Holiday on a golfing break. When we arrived they were not expecting us, (we were on the computer but no room and keys were ready) so after lots of tutting we were given the keys to room 1 and then told that we would be moved the next day. Room... more

We stayed here for one night as it was the venue for a friend’s retirement dinner. We were given a room in the Pavilion which was tastefully decorated in lilac and white with one double bed and one single. There was a small table and comfy chairs plus a balcony with a small seating area which overlooked the hotel’s gardens.... more

Stayed here end of September 2008,with friends Positives:- Lovely old building and grounds to walk in. Helpful & friendly staff. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, very quiet & peaceful. Nice new indoor pool [but freezing water]. Rooms in pavillion, new & spacious. Good Location for exploring Nord Pas de Calais Negatives: VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get, especially food & wine;... more

We stayed at this hotel on the first night of a touring holiday of France & Belgium; I got a last minute deal on the hotel website - RO for €90 (adding breakfast at €19 each still made this cheaper than the next available deal of €145 RO). The hotel is "out in the sticks" but is well signposted. The... more

We have stayed at Chateau Tilques five or six times over several years, usually just staying overnight before taking Eurotunnel back to England, but once for three nights with a group of American friends as we had enjoyed our visits so much. The hotel is now part of a group, and the economies and 'standardisation' imposed by a head office... more

Over the long Easter weekend we explored the French/Belgian border towns. It was meant to be a camping trip, but since Easter was early this year, there was snow and most campgrounds were shut. So we camped some, stayed in some cheap hotels, and decided to end with a splash of luxury since it was my wife's birthday. For camping... more

Stayed in the Pavilion - have had better rooms at Travelodge. Poor bathroom; very cold; tasteless decor in bedroom. Why do they have that spare bed in the room? A kingsize would have been a better idea rather than the outdated queen PLUS a single!! Would also have expected a choice of english speaking TV rather than just BBC2 and... more

We decided to spend the night in Calais instead of the usual day trip to buy wine. What a great decision! It took only about 40 mins to arrive at the Chateau whick looks like a grand manor house. We chose a family room for four with a mezzanine. I'm sure the main old house would be beautiful to stay... more

This hotel is very conveniently located for the Calais tunnel/ferries being about 30 mins drive away, so makes for an ideal stopover. It looks impressive, and is set in very attractive, well maintained grounds with a lake. It is in the main quiet, but you could hear the drone of the motorway in the distance from our bedroom, but this... more

Stayed for three nights over end of May UK Bank (Public) holiday. Only 30 minutes from Channnel Tunnel at Calais (or 40 minutes if you take the non-motorway route). This is a large house set in parkland with standard rooms in the chateau itself or more modern and larger rooms in a modern block nearby. We ate one night in... more
