We took one of our mini escapes to the Gran Jimenoa this past weekend. What a change from the ocean and beaches of he North Coast. It reminded us of being back in the mountains of Colorado along one of the many streams. Clean cool air, lots of pine trees. and falling asleep to the sound or rushing water was... More

We spent a week at GJ while working in Jarabacoa. It is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Don't go expecting an American 5star hotel but I have stayed in many DR resorts and this is one of the best.

Fresh air, breeze, no humidity, big pine trees, wood house, almost feel like the Laurentian part of Québec. The hotel is well located, spanish style, impeccable. I would give 4 stars. Sarah Rodriguez will welcome you at the reception like no other, she make sure you have all you need and answer all your questions for a memorable stay. The... More

I've stayed here a couple of time, because of the view and tranquility of the surrounded, but they need to improve the t.v's and change or add more food to their menu. other wise its ok for the price.

This charming and rustic hotel which is right on the river is a lovely place to spend a few days while exploring the surrounding areas. The rooms overlooking the river have a spectacular view and the soothing sounds that accompany it. While not for those seeking 5 star experience, the hotel does deliver what you would expect for a rustic... More

stayed here 2 nights. very nice people, even in this low season time (where i assume they make very little money). The compound was well maintained and it seems they are investing in improvements still (pool area). Price was $65 for weekday, basic roo..

After a long ride there, we asked about the amenities are the hotel and was told it was all available. the next day there was major construction in the pool and jacuzzi area and could not be used. This was heart breaking for my daughter that already had her bathing suit on. Front office staff was unapologetic and could care... More

Awful! Given the smallest room in the hotel despite reservations with confirmation and deposit for a junior suite. Cold showers, no hot water, awfully LOUD until the middle of the night. Walls are paper thin. Mold all over the showers. Loud construction starting at 6AM. Amenities listed are not provided. If you want a peaceful stay in Jarabacoa, stay away... More

Pleasantly surprised at what an incredibly beautiful and wonderful experience this turned out to be. Amazing location with a unbelievable view over looking the river, you would never guess you were in the Caribbean. Service was great, free breakfast was awesome, lunch/dinner menu was also great, good drinks, friendly staff, and felt very safe. The pool area was under construction... More
