Not clean, battered bin in bathroom, towel behind toilet system to stem a leak, dead flies on carpet which were there for the duration of our stay, stain on carpet, staff not very warm and welcoming, breakfast never ready on time had to wait while they set up, when departing never even asked if we enjoyed our stay. Very very... More

Not a great first impression – broken glass in the entrance door and dark, dingy carpets. Staff member helped carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs to our room. We had paid extra for a superior room and it really was large but the one small pendant ceiling light with a black shade and two small green bedside lights... More

The room was a nice surprise at first. Very spacious with comfortable bed. There was a TV in the room with limited channels. The bathroom was nice, shower was good, however the toilet did not flush properly and made a loud growling noise every time it flushed. As did the room next doors as we heard it each time they... We had travelled by four trains over eight hours on our way from Kettering and needed a relaxing stay overnight before boarding the steam train to Porthmadog the next day. The welcome at check in was warm and friendly. The room was comfortable and relaxing, sure no lift but the manager carried our cases up to our first floor room.... More

The stay was okay but when I returned home I found I had left 2 favourite items of clothing which I reported back the same day. There was negative response from staff after e-mails telephone calls and my letter only eventually to be told nothing was found. This after I knew precisely where they were left. Such a shame after... More

Room very clean and comfy bed. Catered for our dog without charging. Situated right next the the Ffestiniog narrow gauge railway station. Food was good at reasonable costs...good Welsh breakfast. One drawback is no private parking at hotel. Staff were pleasent and heĺpful. It was a good base for our travels meeting up with friends.

We booked 3 double rooms for myself and my boyfriend, my sister and hers, and my parents. As we had booked through a booking.com style website we had told that only 2 superior doubles and a standard double was available, so we booked these and paid extra for the superiors, but when we arrived, this seemed to have been completely... We stayed in this hotel as we were visiting the llechwedd slate caverns. The hotel is less than 5 minutes’ drive from the slate caverns making it ideal in location for us. The hotel itself was lovely reasonable value for money. We had a double room and a king size room both good sized rooms. The Hotel staff were lovely,... More

Having seen some of the reviews I did arrive wondering what to expect, however after being greeted by Karen with a lovely Welsh welcome and being shown to our beautiful room my fears were laid aside. We did book a table for evening meal and were not disappointed, enjoyed every mouthful all washed down with a very good bottle of... More
