Good location, some parking available, a nearby supermarket, reasonable rooms if all care is just to put your head and rest. They have wifi but when we visited it didn't work for us. Be aware that they don't really include breakfast but you get credit and choose your food from their restaurant and then they calculate the total. Mediocre breakfast.... More

Prior to going to Barlad I read the reviews and was quite worried by the pictures. I stayed at the Moldova from March 15-29, 2014. I found the room clean and comfortable. I shared the twin room with my adult son and found the room small but adequate. The bathroom had a drier but there is not a safe. There... More

Do not have high expectation from the hotel. The hotel is not so bad as expected. Despite old installations, everything is functional. The food is really good and cheap. However, if you want to experience the old communist hotel flavor, this is the place.

The hotel is right in the center of Barlad, the prices shown at the reception are fake or the prices we get. I don't know. They said that the prices shown(in a picture frame) are outdated. Room was barely clean, but the bathroom smelled like a waste dump. Breakfast was served on a daily receipt basis. At the reception you... More

Bad smell, old, very old furniture, mold and rust all over the bathroom, bad reception services. One of the most horrible hotels in Romania. Maybe the worst...The three stars grading is an utopia. It was bought not earned...

Had to stay in Barlad again after nearly four years absence and was encouraged by the slow but distinct improvement in the standard. Did not visit the other two hotels mentioned in my previous review but the locals tell me that although their fittings are newer it does not mean that they work! For two weeks in August thankfully the... More

As I have mentioned in my review of the Motel Occident, I do - due to family connections - have to stay in Barlad at least once a year. I therefore have had the privilege (?) to have stayed in all three hotels opened in the town until today (Jan 2010) and would at the moment recommend the Hotel Moldova.... More

Birlad, or Barlad, in eastern Romania close to the Moldovan border is a town of about 65,000 people and this hotel is presently the only reasonable place to stay if you must visit. English is spoken, credit cards are accepted and the staff are generally helpful. Don't be surprised if the beds are hard and creaky. There are 59 bedrooms... More
