An absolute gem nestled in the gorgeous Haliburton Highlands. Our family stayed for 4 nights in the cabin. This is not a typical motel. All amenities are immaculate and the Inn Keepers are very accomodating and friendly. They made us feel at home and could not do enough for us. Paul built us a wonderful fire everynight so we could... Each year a group of friends get together for an annual Golf tournament at the Blairhampton Golf course which is less than 10 minutes from The Highlands. In past years we have been sleeping on floors, tents, sharing beds and a bathrooms. I'm not complaining we had fun but as we get older we want some comfort. This year we... More

We stayed at the Highlands Motel on the long weekend in May, it was our first stop on a 4 day motorcycle trip. We stayed in the cabin, it was very nice and cozy. It has a full kitchen, double or queen bed (cannot remember which one) and a bunk bed futon, could sleep 6 people. The washroom was small... More

Not enough characters to express how terrific this place is. The staff, setting, finishing, facilities. We stayed in the "Moose Lodge" with our two kids 3 and 6 years old. Everyone had a terrific time. In fact tonight we will relive the whole experience with a slide show on the TV! Our kids especially loved having bicycle races on the... More

My daughter and I recently spent 3 nights in the beautiful loft unit at The Highlands Motel. We were very pleased with the natural pine beauty, cleanliness and well planned lay out of this lovely unit! The beds and multitude of good quality pillows and bedding were appreciated as were the very pretty views and all the little extras like... More

I travel for work frequently and stay at a lot of motels, lodges and B and Bs across South Eastern Ontario. I have not yet taken the time to write a single review about any of them because they have all so far been average.... with this place being the exception. The Highlands Motel was nothing short of excellent. After... More

After having stayed for one night in September, we vowed to return with friends in the winter. When one couple suggested they wanted to go to Haliburton for the Family Day weekend, we convinced them to choose the Highlands, and one couple soon turned into five. A fabulous winter weekend ensued, as skiing, snowshoeing, and good restaurants were all within easy... More

We have stayed at this great motel numerous times over the past 8 years and have never been disappointed. Over the last three years we have seen many improvements to the room and especially the Lodge which is a kitchen, dining and entertainment room for the use of all guests. The owners, who live on site, are very attentive and... More

The property is very well cared for and is an obvious source of pride for the owners. Everything in the room was very good quality and spotlessly clean. Details - chocolate on the pillow, proper lighting, Keurig coffee machine. Friendly, helpful front counter. Stayed in a motel room that worked out great!

We spent a couple of days in the loft after our wedding. The owners, Pali and Dora couldn't have been nicer. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. Our unit was spotlessly clean, cozy and homey. We had a wonderful time!!!! We couldn't have imagined having our honeymoon anywhere else and we... More
