5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights (Aug 17-22/14) at Heather Lodge on 12 Mile Lake near Minden, Ontario, in a king, lakeview suite. The Lodge is absolutely charming - cozy and welcoming in an old-world sort of way, yet with all modern amenities and some very nice luxurious touches to make us feel pampered and special. The room... We went with a family group for dinner and were very satisfied. For $40.00 a head we had a five course meal in a charming dining room, overlooking a lake. They are not licensed but you can bring your own bottle and there is no corkage fee. It is quiet, the food and service excellent - what more could you... More

My husband and I enjoyed our first multi-day vacation away from home and family at Heather Lodge. We enjoyed staying in the Deluxe suite. The room was immaculate and beautifully appointed. The soon-to-be-repaired stairs to our room were a little steep, and the beautiful bathtub will soon be enjoying better water pressure also. We loved the complementary use of the... More

My husband and I spent 5 wonderful days at this beautiful lodge. We needed to get away just to relax and enjoy doing nothing. There is a beautiful dock with chairs to lounge, canoes, kayak and a peddle boat. We had a lake view room on the ground floor as I am handicapped and it was lovely and comfortable. We... More

Stayed at the Lodge Aug 9/14, met one of the new owner's, Maria, friendly and enthusiastic, giving us lots of local information. Stayed in the deluxe suite - lovely and cozy room. Took advantage of their dinner and next-day breakfast deal. The supper was absolutely wonderful, with excellent service from our server. We were able to linger over our meal,... More

Heather Lodge is a casual haven of relaxation and delicious fare. We were looking for some R&R after our daughter’s wedding and booked based on price and great reviews. Our room had a balcony with a lakeside view, a king size bed and a fireplace. The innkeepers are gracious hosts, helpful, friendly, but not intrusive. Simple activities are offered: canoes,... More

We were looking for a place to go in Canada for a short week. My wife came across Heather Lodge in reviews of places to stay that said "GREAT FOOD." That catches her attention in most instances. After calling and talking to Marie, we booked 5 days. From our initial contact and several follow ups to confirm different things, it was... More

I stayed at the Heather Lodge with family to attend a nearby wedding. The Lodge is a lovely lake front wooden building with great food, activities (such as canoes, paddle boats, etc.) and quiet nights. I recommend getting a lake front room, because my room was not lake facing and was very dark. Opt for the dinner - it's a... More

We stayed at Heather Lodge while in Minden for a friend's wedding. The introduction over the phone was very pleasant and helpful. The lodge was well-designed, aesthetically pleasing and a comfortable place to spend a weekend. Much like a cottage but bigger; multiple rooms, large property and several docks and porches. When we asked reception to call us a cab... More
