I stayed at the Heather Lodge with family to attend a nearby wedding. The Lodge is a lovely lake front wooden building with great food, activities (such as canoes, paddle boats, etc.) and quiet nights. I recommend getting a lake front room, because my room was not lake facing and was very dark. Opt for the dinner - it's a... More

We stayed at Heather Lodge while in Minden for a friend's wedding. The introduction over the phone was very pleasant and helpful. The lodge was well-designed, aesthetically pleasing and a comfortable place to spend a weekend. Much like a cottage but bigger; multiple rooms, large property and several docks and porches. When we asked reception to call us a cab... More

The food is 5 star prepared by chef James who is also the owner with his wife Marie. Marie is very friendly and welcoming,... More

We stayed for 1 night July 5 for our wedding anniversary. Let me start by saying that overall, this is a tremendous place to stay. I'm gonna nitpick a bit because....well, that's what I do when I review places :-) But don't let any of it deter you from staying here. It's amazing overall. The grounds are gorgeous, the picture... This adult only Lodge is a beautiful spot on 12 Mile Lake in the Haliburton area. The room was excellent, very spacious and the balcony was roomy, two chairs and a table to look out at the Lake was well used for morning coffee, lazy afternoon of reading. The hosts Arend and Connie are very warm and welcoming, Connie's meals were... My husband and I stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hosts Maria, James and staff were very friendly, accommodating and aim to please. Beautiful views from the Lakeside rooms and dining room. Excellent food and service. Special touches like organic bath products, dietary accommodations, beach towels and hanging flower baskets on guest room balconies made this lodge impressive. Rooms... More

This is a great place to relax, to enjoy nature and to be well fed by a wonderful chef. Hosts, Maria and James, are an absolute delight. This is definitely a place that I would recommend to family and friends and I will, most certainly, go back.

The owners Maria and James are friendly. James is a little quiet and shy, but a good cook (Chef) who tries. The rooms are dark and outdated. No shower, just a bath tub to shower in. Not disability friendly, tons of stairs. 12 mile lake is beautiful, but you can hear the traffic from the highway. Loved the fresh fruit... More

Its great to be in a place were service is "top notch'. Good personal service in a hotel is a rare find these days. I have an allergy for Sugar and they did everything to meet my needs, at breakfast and dinner because James is really a wonderfull cook. Another plus his wife Maria, she is great she showed us...
