I loved Punta Placer. It was the perfect location on the San Agustinillo beach. Not too far from the part of the beach where the waves weren’t that big and in from on that rock, the perfect spot for Sunset. The rooms are beautiful, super clean. I had a room on the second floor in front of the beach and... More

Thanks to the magazine "Mexico Desconocido" I had the chance to discover San Agustinillo, on the coast and this place: Punta Placer! WON-DER-FUL. I stayed in the cabana "Granadillo", top floor, front row in front of the ocean: what a view! A dream. The key words: just enjoy the beach, the ocean, the lovely cabanas (really clean, modern, safe, no... More

Of all the little cabanas on San Agostinillo beach, Punta Placer is far and away the prettiest, nicest, cleanest, most charming, well run, well looked after. Sit on your verandah on deck chairs which rock(!) and look at the waves coming in, calmly in the morning and more lively in the afternoon. Walk the beach to Mazunte and in the... More

We really loved our time here, so much so that we extended our stay from 3 nights to 4, thank goodness it was available as we were just not ready to leave! I spent so long researching the area & hotels before arriving, I was really confused but turned out to be so happy with our choices. Firstly, the choice... More

This is a boutique hotel with bungalows right on the beach, Incredible experience with opening the door of your room to the beach and Pacific Ocean, lovely swimming right in front of the hotel, no crowds and beautiful beaches for long walks. Very clean and designed beautifully, with a stone bathroom that gives a feel of Gauguin's Pacific. The only... More

Cabañas Punta Placer provides a delightful location in San Agustinillo. Walk out your door and you're barely 30 yards from the water, on a gorgeous little bay with deep tidal changes. And you're just 10 minutes from Zipolite (the hippy haven with shops, restaurants, and clothing-optional bathing) and five minutes from Mazunte, with its Mexican National Turtle Center, its annual... This was an OK place. The cabanas are great (except there aren't actually any windows to close, just grating), and all the amenities were nice. I would definitely not recommend this however because of the amount of mosquitoes!! I went in mid to late August and was absolutely destroyed. The mosquito netting doesn't help that much because if you close... More

We recently stayed at Punta Placer based on recommendations of several Mexican family friends and were not disappointed. The setting is spectacular and the hosts and service were all that we had hoped. Located on the beach behind some shade providing palm trees, the rooms look out at the beautiful waves and curving sand of San Agustanillo. The rooms are... More

We planned to stay for a week at Punta Placer Bungalows in late July 2013, but we only stayed for 1 night. The place is lovely-- right on the beach! The people working there were very nice and our one meal at the restaurant was great. But we had young children (ages 4, 5, and 8) and neither our rooms... More

Located on the main coastal road north of Huatulco area, this lodging is superb! The tiny coastal community of San Agustinillo has a half dozen to a dozen places to enjoy a quiet sandy beach. From the roadside, most of this areas accommodations have the appearance of being 3rd class lodgings, but don't be fooled. This particular gem is ideal... More
