Very friendly personel. very delicious food. It's a bit to expensive. In bungalows, the night is quite noisy. You can hear the animals very well, sometimes bush babys come in the room (no danger, they just try to find food) because the walls are made of palm leaves. The moskito nets had some holes. I recommend to book a room,... More

We spent a week here prior to going on Safari - it was early December and just before the main season started. Although aimed at kitesurfers as the warm shallow waters and constant breeze make this a perfect location for the sport - it is also an a ideal getaway for anyone wanting to avoid the bustle of Diani. We recently spent a five day stay at the magical mwazaro beach resort. accommodation was very comfortable and the full board food at the amazing low prices was unbelievable and sooooo extremely tasty. Delicious fresh fish every day with breakfast cooked to order. I especially liked the unusually beautiful hand basins outside all the rooms! The staff were very attentive... More

Plan to stay at least one week. Chill and watch the sea. Great beach and inlets for combing. Good winds for surfing. Rod fishing then eat your catch or enjoy the menu. Recommend the crab - cake starter and claws main course. Try also the chocolate pudding...

A beautiful group of buildings in a beautiful setting. Ideal for kite surfing with the constant warm winds and the wide expanse of water, plus the option to go up the river into the mangroves by boat, or just chill on the beach. Wide variety of accomodation for any pocket plus a friendly and helpful staff, what more could you... More

In January 2013 I have been 2 weeks in Mwazaro. It has been my third visit to this place and there are various good reasons to return there again and again. It's a secluded place with no disturbance from AI tourists ;-). No beachboys try to sell agressively their stuff (although you can still buy if you want) and the... More

I have been here for 3 weeks in August 2012 and it was a super experience. When I stepped out of the taxi, I was amazed with its beauty. Beautiful accommodation build from corralstone and palm tree just on a fantastic beach. All the people I met there, other guests, all the employees and of course Joerg and Jannet were... More

Excellent beach accommodation - there are several options: pitched tents, rooms and camping. Officially they no longer accept campers, but we were able to pitch our tents for three nights at 5 euros a night, and we had some meals at the lodge. We checked out all the options in Shimoni town and found them all to be overpriced and/or... More

We spent five days at Mwazaro in one of the Palm Cottages. Perfect location. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely beach. Great food. Cottages are basic but charming - really nice to sleep hearing the waves outside. Can't wait to go back. Plenty to do if you want to - or easy to just sit and do nothing at all.

Location, location, location. This is a no frills enterprise. But thats just great for a zero technic place to stay. Very quiet. Other places down the road in Shimoni are over rated, over priced, over touristy and crowds of local beach vendors tend to hang about like flies.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Mwazaro Beach Resort is located at the southern east coast of Africa. There is a main building with a dining area and small restaurant, a beach bar and a chill out area. Our Lodge has three different categories of accommodation:Coral House Lower Floor: These rooms in the luxury stone bungalows have a living room, bedroom and a private bathroom with hot water. There is a sea view terrace with a stunning view of the spot. The rooms are also equipped with a comfortable double bed, electricity and a fan. Coral House - Upper Floor:The rooms are located on the upper floor of the unique stone bungalows, where you have a beautiful sea view terrace. Another highlight of the Coral House Upper Floor is the chic, large bathroom with a view of the mangrove jungle. A stylish ambience creates the living area with african furniture. Palm Bungalows: These traditional African cottages are made of wood, covered with palm leaves. They are situated directly at the beach. Each Makuti has a comfortable double bed and a spacious terrace with a perfect view to the beach. The nine wooden Makuti Cottages share three ample bathhouses with separate toilets and showers which will be cleaned daily. The two stone Makutis has each their own, external sanitary room. Lodge Apartments: These apartments are part of the main building. Both have two bedrooms and a private bathroom. The apartment Sirius additionally has a large living room and a second lavatory. A spacious terrace offers you a great view to the spot. They are perfect for families or small groups. Half board always included! All of our Kenyan Island packages include breakfast and dinner.
