The rooms are cozy, beautiful and very comfortable to sleep in. Its decor reflects heavily on the character of the region making you feel you are at the right place. Don't expect international standards of service but although it doesn't show, the staff are sincere and honest.

the hotel is great, but the service is poor; be very careful about the bills, and what is included or not in the package you book. unfortunately this breaks down the charm of the hotel.

Everything about this hotel oozes quality, pity that the security situation in the outlying areas has reduced the hotels occupany to me only.

located outside of town and was advised to engage a police escort in order to walk outside the hotel complex. Room was absolutely beautiful, clean, large with high ceilings. Had to share the hotel with a large booking of tourists so the buffet suppers were crowded. Food average. Swimming pool was nice. Staff very helpful and friendly including the fellows... More

Stayed here on our visit to Shibam and Sayun - the room was lovely, the bathroom plumbing possibly a little old, so hot water was a hit and miss affair, pool is lovely and very welcome in the heat, the food was nice enough but the service was at a snails pace, breakfast was great though and self-service. There is... More

Situated in an oasis between Seiyun and Shibam in the Hadramout Wadi area, the Al Hawta offer easy access to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the old walled city of Shibam. The hotel is partly an old estate with all the charms that comes with that, but much has been added in recent years. It is worth spending the... More

This is an extraordinary hotel. A traditional Hadramaut palace, made of mud, and set in lovely gardens 7km from the wonderful town of Shibam. We booked a room through a travel agent and got a good deal- 63 USD for a double. on checking out it turned out they had given us a further discount- 57 USD per night. That... More

If you come to visit famous SHIBAM in the hadramawt, try to stay at this palace situated 7 km east of the city, on the road to SEYUN, the nearest airport. This beautifully designed white palace is surrounded by palm trees, and built entirely with mud and clay. You can try to find out the 5 different regional styles that... More

The ALHAWTA Palace hotel is set in a beautiful shaded oasis that used to be a former estate with large gardens. The location is btw. Seiyun and Shibam in the senic Hadhramout province in Yemen. The old estate was completly renovated with impeccable style and taste by an Italian using only local antiques and materials. The result is stunning and... More
