We were send here on recommendation of friend an only stopped for lunch! We were blown away by the natural beauty of the place! The stunning views the friendly staff and the super jummy Vegetrian Rice and Curry they served us for lunch! We definately come back and stay for longer!

After just reading the last review I am wondering if these people went to the same place I consider to be one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots i have ever had the pleasure of visiting. It is a little difficult to find...but that in my opinion is the reason it manages to retain its quality of exclusiveness. Galapita... More

We arrived to Galapita eco lodge to have early lunch & take a rest coming down from Bandarawela. We were running around in circles as there was no name board indicating the turn off. The bushes had overgrown & signs showed that a vehicle had not passed that way in many moons. We had to use our machetes to cut... More

We are very sorry for your distress, and that we did not fulfill your expectations. I will try and address your issues one by one. We do not like to publicize or advertise Galapita Rocks to the general public, hence the lack of signage on the rd. However we usually give clear directions to all of our guests, who don’t... More

We were the only guests when we visited here in January 2014, any doubts I may have had about so remote a spot (being a committed city dweller who likes to be near an all night shop at all times !) were quickly dispelled. Richard and his staff looked after us so well. We ate wonderful food, I loved swimming... More

I'm a bit biased but this is my favourite place on earth by a long long way. I've been coming here for many many years now and i've seen it go through it's many avatars ( for better and for worse). If you're fond of nature at its most raw or if you fancy stepping outside time, then you wont... More

I stayed here for a day and a night, it is an extremely beautiful place, peaceful and natural. The river, the rocks, the giant ancient trees, the sunsets, the monkey's- if you want to experience planet earth and the true beauty that exists on it, then stay here. I was sad to leave, but for sure i will visit again... More

I can't understand the other reviews. We stayed here back in 2007 and thought it was a most peaceful and relaxing place. The food was gorgeous and the lack of electricity very refreshing after a day or two. Not your average spot and not the place to go to if you want to be waited on hand and foot but... More

We were surprised to arrive at Galapita and find a completely unkept gate, where we had to wait for an old man to turn up who didn't speak a word of English and seemed pretty grumpy. He brought us to the main area of the lodge over a badly kept path, sidestepping rubbish on the way, and when we saw... More

I'd echo the previous comment, the website made this place look very luxurious and I looked forward to activities that just weren't available. The site is very beautiful but quite shabby although while we were the only guests it was lovely and peaceful. Because of the open nature of the rooms when the place is busy privacy becomes an issue.... More

We wanted to stay in an eco lodge near to Yala national park and Galapita looked the obvious choice from the guide books. The website also looked really slick - a long way from the reality unfortunately. Our first difficulty was in contacting Galapita - the number in the guide book did not work and, after finding another phone number... More
