Thank you to everyone at the hotel for our fantastic stay. We have been coming to this hotel for several years now and both the owners and all the staff always make us so welcome. This is a very special hotel, where the two owners take pride in it's appearance and the daily running of it, they are always there... more

A nice panel on the border of the road: from 35£ a room. As we were looking for accomodation for a long time, we decided to stop and my wife went there to ask for a room. It was 35£ indeed, but we knew later (too late) that it was per person. OK so 70£: we will enjoy here. The... more

I stayed here on a business trip having been here some 5 years before - I'm glad I did! Great lochside setting with private gardens, my room at the front overlooked the loch leading into Oban. There is an old world, almost quirky charm about the place but from the reception, bar, bistro and breakfast room staff , the warmth... more

We have just returned from another visit to the Falls of Lora. I'm afraid I'm going to upset quite a few people, and I think they'll be able to guess who they are - those who have posted unfavourable reviews of this hotel. I'm not going to cast aspersions on their reviews or experiences (unlike others). But I have another... more

I can accept that others who have stayed in this hotel are willing to think that its still 1950 and that's a good thing. But it isn't - its the 21st century and someone should tell the owners of this hotel that. Yes the views are amazing and yes the building is a superb piece Victorian vernacular Scottish architecture. However... more

I'd say the rates were reasonable value if they were per room but they're not: they are per person. Way over priced for such a tired looking hotel. Decor seems to date back to the 50s. Furniture and furnishings all very worn and grubby in appearance. Staff in the dining room reminded me of Mrs Overall in Acorn Antiques. We... more

We're just back from our third stay at the Falls and we love it. The staff are friendly and by the time you leave you feel like you've known them for years. What I love about this hotel is the fact that it's not one of these modern ones where everything is so uniform, this hotel is the opposite cause... more

I have to laugh at the comments made about the poor service and poor food and how old fashioned it is. Firstly it is north of scotland secondly it would be damn right boring to go to the north of scotland and get a central scotland response. for the business like minded people there are more hotels to that taste... more

There are some really funny reviews in here about this hotel, which I think say more about the reviewers than the hotel. In particular, the "unfriendly" lady owner. In fact, there are two lady owners and both are absolutely wonderful - mind you, they don't take any stick from anybody! They are two of the most remarkable people it has... more
