I'd say the rates were reasonable value if they were per room but they're not: they are per person. Way over priced for such a tired looking hotel. Decor seems to date back to the 50s. Furniture and furnishings all very worn and grubby in appearance. Staff in the dining room reminded me of Mrs Overall in Acorn Antiques. We... more

We're just back from our third stay at the Falls and we love it. The staff are friendly and by the time you leave you feel like you've known them for years. What I love about this hotel is the fact that it's not one of these modern ones where everything is so uniform, this hotel is the opposite cause... more

I have to laugh at the comments made about the poor service and poor food and how old fashioned it is. Firstly it is north of scotland secondly it would be damn right boring to go to the north of scotland and get a central scotland response. for the business like minded people there are more hotels to that taste... more

There are some really funny reviews in here about this hotel, which I think say more about the reviewers than the hotel. In particular, the "unfriendly" lady owner. In fact, there are two lady owners and both are absolutely wonderful - mind you, they don't take any stick from anybody! They are two of the most remarkable people it has... more

This is the second year running that my family and I have spent the October half term at "The Falls", and as last time, we found the staff welcoming and efficient. We used one of their family rooms that is divided into two sleeping areas and as before we found it very clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities... more

We stay at this hotel twice a year. We have been going for the last 5 years and staff go out of their way to be of the utmost help and kindness to all of us throughout our stay, AS DO BOTH OF THE OWNERS. The two owners of this hotel are both of the generation where they 'EXPECT' things... more

Booked the room at a special rate and was told over the telephone that the room had yet to be updated, so have no problems with the room, although not of a great standard, in fact it was slighter better than anticipated. Our problem was with some of the staff and the owners attitude! We had booked a rate where... more

We booked at very short notice and were lucky to get the last available room number 16 at the rear on the ground floor. Parked our car unwittingly just ouside our room which was so handy. Although twin beds they were superb. Booking in was very friendly and we were just on time for dinner. The young staff were very... more

Following a business trip that ran on later than expected, I dropped in to Falls of Lora on the off-chance they might have any rooms vacant. They had one, and I asked to see the room. It was old fashioned, but clean enough. However, the '6ft bed' turned out to be 2 single mattresses stuck together. I approached an old... more
