Stayed at the Queens Head several times especially in February to explore the beautiful countryside, beaches and history of Northumberland. The breakfast choice is great - from kippers to porridge to full English breakfast. The dinners can be eaten in the restaurant or in the bar. The staff work hard and are responsive. Rothbury is a quiet town with lovely... More

From the moment we walked in the level of service was professional and friendly, especially the waitresses in the excellent restaurant. The food was of a high standard and we can particularly recommend the lamb rump and the chicken stuffed with haggis. Our room(no.23) was on the top floor and with it's newly decorated bathroom was of more than an... More

We stayed at The Queen's Head for one night as we walked St. Oswald's Way. A nice place in the process of being renovated by the looks of it. Rooms were clean tidy and pleasant and the beds were comfortable. We had a really nice meal here as well and the service was excellent. Not a 5 star place but... More

Staying in this beautiful Northumbrian town and visited most local hostelries. The food ,service and choice of bitter was first class at The Queen's Head and other than the intrusively loud music, the dining room was a pleasant place to be.Alexandra served us very well and no doubt this will be a place to which we will return.

We were booked into The Turks Head in Rothbury but due to a plumbing emergency we were moved to The Queens Head also in Rothbury. Didn't mind being moved but notice was the same day so planning an alternative whilst driving up the A1 wasn't an option. The manager of The Turks Head texted a sincere apology and offered a... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It appears we have suffered a little through no fault of our own in that you were not happy to be moved. The Queens Head is not co-owned, we do have an interest in The Turks Head. I offered the room in good faith on the same terms as your... More

I came across this hotel on a voucher site and decided to book the voucher deal plus 2 extra nights. Rothbury is a pretty Northumberland village with the National Trust property of Cragside nearby. The Queens Head is an inn with rooms. The room was lovely and the food very good. we ate there all three nights. The staff were... More
