We had a three night stay here in Room 1. It was large and comfortable and delightful. We had a full cooked breakfast each morning which was delicious. Although we were out 2 of the nights we did eat in the restaurant on our final evening and again the food was delicious. All the staff where friendly and helpful and... More

Stayed for one night during the Bank holiday weekend and liked our 1 night stay. We found the hotel quite easily in Rothbury and it is a short walk from the High Street, albeit on a Sunday there is not a lot open, but we found adequate drinking and eating locations. Upon arrival we were met by the acting manger... More

Staff we're friendly but at times trying too hard, getting called "sir" after every sentence becomes boring. The room was more like a sauna at times with no way of cooling it down, we suspect that the kitchens on the floor below was the problem.

My partner and I visited the Coquetvale hotel on the August bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic stay. It was a birthday treat for me, and we stayed in a superior room which was huge. Very clean, huge comfortable bed, and gorgeous views from both the windows. It also had a whirlpool bath which was great and felt like... More

Had a fabulous stay here. Very quiet at night. Room was clean and a good size. Staff were really lovely and friendly. And the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Thank you everyone at Coquetvale Hotel . Xx

On arriving at the hotel the car park was pretty full with 10 cars out of a possibly 14. Each time we returned to the hotel we struggled to find somewhere to park so arrive early. We unpacked the car and entered the hotel on the ground floor and was given our room key. After climbing two flights of stairs... More

Much to enjoy in this hotel, The dining room, bar, and breakfast room panelling, ceilings, fireplaces and wooden floors for example. The food was also very good. Nice breakfast, and the Italian restaurant was excellent. The staff were by and large helpful and pleasant, but there did seem to be too few of them. The reception was never manned during... More

Lovely hotel, excellent staff, beautiful rooms and great restaurant ..we will stay again. Breakfast was the " icing on the cake" ! The staff went out of their way to help , particularly as we were transporting a recently caught salmon !

The hotel is okay, comfortable beds and decent decor. Our bathroom (No 3) stunk of sewage which we complained about as soon as we arrived. The manager said he could do nothing until Monday and did not offer us another room as they were fully booked. The bathroom has a shower attachment so you couldn't have a stand up shower,... More

Dear LisaB I will certainly look into your comments, however after seeing your review I did go up and look at the room to which I found no smell. I then spoke to the manager and he doesn't remember having any conversations of this nature. The only thing I can think is that as they are building new homes nearby,... More

I love that it is 400 meters from the main town. This way, it is walkable to Rothbury, yet quiet. We stayed 4 nights - and were quite happy with the choice. Why? - Great service; especially the incomparable James Thornton - Big rooms; we were a family of 4- with 2 parents; and 2 teens. Lots of room to... More
